what are you talking about?

I just e-mailed the pats and they said they don't think these leaks came from their office

Wait, what? What leaks? The Mort leaks? From whose office, the leagues?

Back from my ban.

I love these emails. Love them. However, how does this fit into the Judges rhetoric statement? Or does that only pertain to Brady and the NFL?

that's just addressed to the lawyers

he prob doesn't even see that stuff unless one of the lawyers uses it in teh case

Yep on Florio.

Hell I watch TVLand too (Everyone Loves Raymond at 9pm) but I bet he watches it at 10am.

I doubt 10 am. That would conflict with him watching Elmo's World.

Wells report context is run by the Patriots organization and Robert Kraft, neither of whom is party to the suit.

He will claimed he destroyed it because he upgraded to windows 95.
Man, that brought back memories/flashbacks. Off topic, but I remember being at Electronics Boutique trying to buy the original Sony Playststion, and being stuck behind 20 people buying Windows 95, I think they came out the same day.

Sorry for going off topic, but the Windows 95 comment caused flashbacks.

People in the NFL offices need firing, and those people include Goodell, either for participating in this, or for incompetence in allowing his office to do this. I wonder how many of the "full 32" are going to continue to pretend otherwise.

These emails are fascinating ! BUT, they are worth as much as the paper they would be printed on. The only way they'd be helpful, would have been if KRAFT had fought this. Since he didn't, these emails don't mean ****. Sure they are damning as far as the NFL letting one of its member teams get destroyed in the press, but obviously they didn't seem to care.

To add, this doesn't help Brady in any way shape or form. This is all PR for Krafty Bob, he cares more about his Brand than Brady.

I think there is a greater point you that I haven't seen anyone comment on.

A primary target of these emails is the other owners. Everyone, including the other owners, sees how Goodell and the NFL treat one of their franchises - and they (excluding Jerry Jones) may begin to realize that they, too, could see this side of Goodell (as a few teams already have). IMO, these emails are the first step in taking Goodell down. With good reason. Goodell and his brand of power-mad discipline with no respect for true fairness has got to go. He is by far the worst commissioner in the area of effective discipline that the NFL has ever seen (and hopefully ever will see). And the role of discipline is a major role for the Commish.

The settlement conference is scheduled for August 12 which follow a special NFL owner's meeting on August 11. That meeting was originally scheduled to discuss the move of a franchise to LA. I have to believe the agenda just changed and depending on what happens in the next 10 days, Goodell could get different marching orders as in "make this go away". A few more leaks and...suddenly they are on the defensive..

These e-mails make it incomprehensible that Kraft rolled over

Those emails are hard to read. The Patriots knew they were getting destroyed in the press, the league did less than nothing to stop it (why would they, they were the instigators) and the Patriots were powerless to do anything about it.

As many were I was livid when Kraft backed down, but now I think his respect and fondness for Brady is so great he was willing to take that bullet because he (wrongly, naively, whatever adverb fits) thought it would help Brady.

Watching this unfold is like watching a Greek tragedy unfold live before your eyes.
(And more often than not, they're called tragedies because there is no happy ending.)

Kraft wanted to do the right thing and as Bedard pointed out he still seems to think its goodell's miniions and not goodell himself how is the culprit. I guess the arbitration ruling cleared it up a bit. Not sure unless Kraft starts aiming at goodell next.

That directly contradicts comments from Commissioner Roger Goodell at a press conference in May. Pressed by Tom Curran of CSNNE.com on whether Ted Wells was asked to investigate leaks (including the original 11-of-12-balls debacle), Goodell said that Ted Wells “had the opportunity to evaluate that.”

Apparently, he didn’t. But that doesn’t make it too late for Wells or someone else to make another million or so finding out who in the league office turned #DeflateGate from an act of gamesmanship at worst into the crime of the century, all by leaking blatantly false information to Chris Mortensen of ESPN.

Florio is THE MAN...

Of course breer has to tweet this ambiguous bit

For better or worse, I don't think I can remember a pro sports franchise acting the way the Patriots have this week. Really amazing.

Or a league office that has acted as poorly as the NFL's. Man and I thought Stern ran some shady **** in the NBA. I'd kill for Stern to run the NFL instead of Goody.

I tweeted Breer back, saying something like I couldn't remember a sports league acting like this ever either….wait, except Bountygate, Ray Rice, Etc…..
