According to NFL radio this morning Brady and Company offer to accept a fine if the suspension is removed completely.

If this is done to avoid a court case it's probably a cheap way out but perception will be Brady is guilty.

How do I fix title ? Phone does it every time.

If that's true, I'm disappointed. I wanted this to go to court very badly.

Well, if it's the $50K fine for not turning over his phone then I would be fine with that.

Ya, that's only double the fine that Favre got, when he actually did what he was accused of. Since the CBA stipulates that the League doesn't have the authority to demand phones, the idea that players can be fined for not turning them over is beyond absurd.

I've been torn on this myself. I'm trying to weigh the potential outcomes versus the pain of having to wait for things to happen continuously. For example, what are the odds that taking this to court actually results in something blowing up the way we'd hope? I think the most likely positive outcome of court is they deem the process was unfair, the punishment on Brady is vacated. That's great, but that won't change anything in the court of public opinion, where everyone will say that Brady skated on a "technicality".

So in my mind, our most likely choices (assuming the NFL would ever consider this offer), is Brady gets fined, the public thinks he's a cheater, and we move on. Or Brady goes to court, it's dragged out all season, the public STILL thinks he's a cheater, but at least he saves some money. I'm honestly undecided on which I prefer.

nfl isn't budging. god, i hate this league.
tom has to win in court now but im not that confident since nothing has gone our way during this ridiculous investigation.

NFL reportedly sticking to 4 games per Schefter. Nothing to see here.

Adam Schefter added,

Stephen A Smith @stephenasmith I’m hearing that Brady’s 4-gm suspension will likely be upheld by the NFL.

guys, there is no news regarding brady's suspension being upheld. anything less is an admission by the nfl that wells screwed up.

The perception will be that Brady is guilty even if Abraham, ************, Muhammad, Buddha, Krishna and Confucius all descended from whatever heaven(s) they inhabit and declared on the 50 yard line in Foxboro that Brady was as pure as the driven snow.

Agreed. Hard to believe the NFLPA hired Kessler only to accept this result.
I have said out here from the very beginning that Brady's interests and the NFLPA's interests could at some point diverge.

Good, if true. I guess I keep underestimating just how stupid of a man Roger Goodell is.

I don't really care about the court of public opinion, personally. That's not going to really change regardless of what the outcome is. I just want to see that sham of a report get thrown in the trash where it belongs. It would also be a massive black eye on the league... up there with the Rice incident.

So you think an outrageous and unfair penalty handed down by a biased, anti-Pats, agenda-driven league office, which has been unchecked by any opposition, is preferable to taking a chance in court where our side will be allowed to present a defense that can be fairly heard and considered?

I strongly disagree.

So you think a sham frame job from the beginning by the nfl constitutes as "nothing has gone our way"? It was never gonna because the nfl made the verdict before they even investigated.

Once this goes to federal court nfl loses all control over this, it's the reason why goodell has dragged it as far as he has. Once he makes his "decision", someone is sitting somwhere ready to file in federal court and also file an injunction that allows Brady to play until he has exhausted all of his legal remedies.
