Goodell Being 'Pushed' By Influential Owners to Keep Brady's Suspension at Four Games

Nice wit...but the sad part is, Kraft did far more damage to Brady's legacy and playing prospects than any other owner could.

I don't think Kraft helped, but I don't think there were a ton of people who actually changed their mind at that point. I think pretty much everyone made up their minds long before that.

Living outside New England,I can tell you that Kraft gave the POS Carte Blanche to destroy the Pats reputation in 2007 by throwing BB under the bus in 2007. This episode is just icing on the cake and changes nothing

Just saw Curran report that Irsay and Bisciotti are "most vocal anti-Brady owners."

Well how about that, the two teams the Pats beat on the way to the Super Bowl...

But wait, didn't the initial report say they were "influential owners"? One is a scummy loser and the other is just simply under the influence, as someone else joked earlier.

Funny how a druggy and a nobody have more sway with Goodell than the great Kraft. I remember not so long ago how most everybody on this site were praising his vaunted influence as the man who saved the League. What a pathetic joke that was. The bottom line is if you don't command respect from the POS like Bisciotti did in standing up for Rice in the wrong you will get none even when you are in the right. .

Pretty ****y if true that Bisciotti is involved. BB has always been great to Ozzie and the Ravens organization. He even called them before trading back in 2010 (so Dallas could grab Dez) before he traded with Dallas. He also helped the make an excellent hire in Harbaugh. Hope BB doesn't do them anymore favors.

Robert Kraft would be very angry at you for criticizing his team in an attempt to help your team.
My team is the New Englands Patriots. The Kraft family is part of that team. I don't abandon my team at the first sign of discourse, unlike some fair-weather fans.

Thats crap and you know it. You think Washington fans like Snyder because he's "part of the team?"

The Bob Kraft hate on this site is beyond ignorant.

I vehemently disagree.
Guess what? They're the defending champs, the Krafts still own the team and will continue to do so for many years to come.

I hear the Jets are looking for fans. Maybe you guys should sign up.

Durr, how dare you criticize team. Go be Jets fan!

Kraft is the one who abandoned your team for his team "The 32".
I stand firmly behind the team, and firmly against the man who is putting 31 other owners ahead of it.

Thats exactly the point, you want to support him because he is part of the team, yet he is doing things that are detrimental to the team, because he is more concerned with the other owners.

It's actually the hardest core Patriot fans who are most upset at Kraft for his capitulation, the fair weather fans aren't paying any attention at all. The Patriots and Tom Brady have been dragged through the mud and vilified for the past 6 months and Bob Kraft has abetted the league in doing so. He deserves vitriol directed his way, and those directing it at him are actually their best fans. Some of it gets too personal and goes too far imo but it's still coming from those who follow them closest and care the most about them.

Its not hate, its telling the truth and holding him accountable to his true allegiance, which is not in the best interest of the team or its fans.
I don't hate the man, I think that he sucks as an owner because I would prefer one that puts his team first and fights when the other owners try to screw it.

The unity of the 32.

Just look at that sentence and tell me it doesn't make your brain explode.

Tremendous point.
The Patriots are under attack and Kraft is aiding the enemy. That is because he in fact IS the enemy, because he has made it clear that what is best for the 32 owners is more important than what is best for the Patriots.

Then you would classify the owner as a fair weather fan? He certainly abandoned his QB in his time of need by refusing to appeal or even testify either in person or by Skype at his appeal hearing. Then by his milquetoast acceptance of the punishment doled out and refusal to appeal himself for team penalties which was tacit admission of guilt and his belief that his QB was guilty?
Sorry a true friend stands by you, thick and thin and doesn't turn tail at the first sign of trouble. Kraft was no friend to Brady, choosing his crony billionaires ( the ones with drug convictions and multiple ones found liable for million dollar frauds as well) over his HOF QB.

Ivan made a very well reasoned response. On the other hand AJ and Vector have chosen to ignore the last 20+ years and feed of off of one incident in a case that's far from over. This entire episode is far from over. I'm reserving judgement until all is said and done.

Fot those of you on the hate on Kraft bandwagon, count me out.

I didn't like any of it but it was the " I can end it or extend it " part that leave me wondering why the Patriots don't understand why that door is actually open, not closed as it would appear to have been. IMO at least the behavior of the league since that press conference has been to extend it over and over and over, dragging Brady and the team through the mud day after day, week after week, month after month, and Gödel's behavior by dragging the appeal ruling out as far as possible to try and break Brady should have pushed Kraft back to the podium to denounce the league and Gödel and to stand up for Brady vocally and angrily. Enough is enough, Kraft wrongfully stood down for what he claimed was the best interest of the league and Gödel in turn stepped up the attacks on the Patriots, he shouldn't be turning his back away any longer.
