Per Mike Kensil.

"It was brought to our attention that the NEP were using a drone to tape their teams' practice. This was brought to our attention by a NYJ employee who was in attendance. After some serious discussion over pizza, it is of our opinion that this provided an unfair competitive advantage for the NEP. As such, we have commissioned an investigation to find out who paid for the drone and if this has been a practice in use for some time. We firmly believe in the integrity of the game and we will not tolerate such practices. As repeat offenders, we will consult with William Polian on what punishment will be handed out. We promise the other 31 fan bases we will do our best to ensure their teams' success by putting an end to the NEP violations once and for all."

For the record, other teams (i.e. Dallas) are using drones, too.

“We pride ourselves on coaching and teaching our players as well as we can and film has been a big part of the game for a long time,” Garrett said. “Typically you have an end zone shot and a sideline shot. We use a lot of hand-held cameras on the ground. ... One of our coaches went down to SMU for their spring practices and saw they were using it. They liked the angle. We got a chance to see it, so we decided to take a look at it.”

Won't be long before the league office sends one its memos to all 32. Gag.

Get ready for DroneGate after we go 19-0 this season.

Jets employed this several years ago ... was of no help.

Subject: Cease and desist order on drone usage

Immediately, henceforth and forever the New England Patriots are to cease all use of drones for any reason whatsoever. As you were first noticed engaging in this egregious activity without the benefit of permission of the competition committee, it is fitting and just that you can no longer use this innovative approach. Even though there are no competitive benefit, you just cannot f..ing do it, do not ask questions or we will fine your azz...

This order may be lifted in the future if the Jets can figure out what a drone is and find someone to command this cheating object. Until then cease and desist, if you choose to ignore this official dictate we will call Kravitz in the middle of a Sunday nite, and then give Mort false information on something, anything. As you are well aware the NFL has the uncanny knack of turning a molehill into a mountain of controversy... so you are warned.

We are gonna get you... wait and see.

Some thoughts on drones:

  • When drones are outlawed only outlaws will have drones.
  • What number is the team assigning to the drone? Will it report as eligible? Oh, that's right the rules were changed. Nevermind.
  • Is the drone part of SkyNet?
  • Don't drone me bro'!
  • Is BB really the pre-Borg Queen biding his time and perfecting his plan?
  • How long before the team graduates from drones to 'droids?
  • Speaking of 'droids, if Kraft was a Nexus 6, his response to the NFL* might have been more like, "I've seen things you people wouldn't believe. Attack ships on fire off the shoulder of Orion. I watched C-beams glitter in the dark near the Tannhauser gate. All those moments will be lost in time... like tears in rain... Time to die." At least THEN, I would have felt sympathetic!

We're onto Pittsburgh.

Suck it, hippies.

League is full of assholes and grimeballs

If Belichick continues to use one, you could bet the house they will be banned within a week.

Also
  • Human use of drones causes global warming. Or not.

The tears in the rain speech rules. Completely off topic but it just does. At least nobody is claiming that anybody on the Pats is a replicant or a surrogate yet. I guess once Brady hits 40...
