I doubt it, if he has been paying attention, and it's more probable than not that he has, then it is more likely than not that he was generally aware of Macdonald's predilection for beating women. I see Goodell upping the suspension to 8 games, fining the Patriots another million and talking the 2016 first round as well.

The sad thing is the League will likely come down hard on McDonald this time and then pat themselves on the back in the media bragging how their new domestic violence policy is resounding success. Owners will praise Goodell for getting it right now.
