It's in the NFL and the Patriots best interest to resolve it behind closed doors. In fact, it never should've been leaked in the first place with all sorts of wrong information coming out to begin with. The real problem from the start has been the NFL employees within the league office. They started this whole sh*tstorm (on purpose). Kensil is a former Jets employee who was their when Belichick left NYJ and probably had an axe to grind, so he leaked the info and put out wrong info regarding how many balls were deflated and by how much.... all to tarnish the Pats name.
That's when the media starting making a huge deal out of it. In the end, the deflated balls weren't that bad but by the time the real info was released it was too late. The public and the media had already made up their minds about the Pats.
This forced the Wells Report and forced them to punish the Patriots, even though there was never any proof. The public opinion found the Pats guilty, so the NFL had to try their hardest to make something out of nothing.
If there were never any leaks and that big shirtstorm back in January/February, then the league most likely wouldve discussed this internally and probably gave the Patriots a warning like they did when the Vikings were caught heating balls on the sidelines, and this whole thing wouldnt have been a huge issue.
Instead it's a permanant black mark on the Patriots and Tom Brady, regardless if they are guilty or not.
I'm pissed that the league hasn't done anything about the leaks and mis-information that came out.
