Kraft to speak at 1PM

Bleacher report seems to think penalty will be reduced.

Why does this crap always happen when I'm at work? Can't ever be on my day off, or before I go in, or after I'm home...

I hope this is actually good news of some kind for once instead of the torrent of bad news that we Pats fans have had to weather. I'll keep my fingers crossed.

I think if Kraft were to concede to punishment he would not bother with a speech.

Maybe I'm just a hopeless optimist but I think he is going to either make his case here for the league with the threat of war or just declare war. I'm leaning towards the former.

I think he wants his case in the public eye with his defense available to the public and media to put pressure on other owners.

Hmmmm...interesting twist. Wouldn't be consistent at all with his recent actions (Wells in context site; releasing statement that he does not agree with penalties; comments to King) for him to lay down. But then there's the 'negotiations' with the NFL and Schefter reporting Goodell and Kraft seemingly patching things up. I don't know what to make of this, especially since any reduction in penalties, any 'compromise' would make more sense coming from the NFL.

The ONLY thing I can come up with is he's announcing one of two things: the Pats will begrudgingly accept all team penalties but support Brady in his appeal; or the Pats will be filing a lawsuit against the NFL. The former is consistent with his latest actions, the latter is consistent with his earlier actions.

I just hope he doesn't cave, that'd be so, so disappointing.

Would be quite a venue to declare war on the league - at an owners meeting... Talk about an awkward two days.

The countdown to capitulation begins.........

Getcha popcorn...and a fifth of vodka. This ought to be interesting.

With how forceful the Pats have been over the past week or two, I think Kraft has at least earned a "let's wait and see what happens" from us. I don't feel good about this either, and I'm willing to bet things are going to go in a very bad direction about a half hour from now. But who knows, he's surprised us before.

If the report about only 5 owners support the punishment is true, that means there's 26 owners not in support and enough to vote Goodell out. Declaring war/declaring a vote of no confidence would be pretty safe with that in mind.

Schefter on The Herd predicts Kraft will fold. States it as personal opinion.

Jason Cole claims a source is telling him that there will be a compromise. This should surprise no one.

Curious to see where he goes and what he says.

Hope Kraft agreed to concede and then announces here he's going to court. But....highly doubtful. Would be good for Hollywood though.

A compromise at a 5 cent penalty is still a no-go for me.

At least Kraft can't speak for Brady, who hopefully goes full-steam ahead with getting his penalty completely erased.

Kraft to concede to the punishment.

I hope he can handle the wrath of the fans coming his way if he does that.

"It's best for the Patriots and the NFL to put this unfortunate incident behind us, and to make sure in the future, there are better lines of communication regarding these matters. With that said, we will accept the terms of the penalty"

- Bob Kraft in 35 minutes

Cannot handle this at all. I would be done with NFL, BK and the Pats (harder to do admittedly) if anything close to this happens.

I'm seeing (on TV) that Kraft is holding a news conference at 1 pm. (I'm assuming this is new)

I think I'm not going to be happy about this as Kraft/Goodell were seen hugging. Did Kraft check his back for daggers?

EDIT: Mods,my apologies, please remove.
