What bothers you the most about all this?

The power that Goodell has. Teams can't appeal team punishments. The only way to change team punishments is to change the mind of Goodell.

Doesn't look too good for our draft picks and fine.

Yeah, it's pretty messed up. The only way the Pats are coming back, I'm guessing, is if Goodell is out in the next year and his replacement actually has some integrity and common sense. In other words, I'm not holding my breath.

The incredible stupidity of it. That and the fact that the NFL now runs sting operations. Wow! I thought RG had jumped the shark before but this is beyond comprehension.

What bothers me the most is that all this could have been handled with a letter.
Instead, they tarnished the League, they tarnished the Pats, And they tarnished Brady!
And even at the very end, they could have gotten out of it with a small fine. But instead hammered everyone.

What bothers me is that I have been spending so much of my time and mental energy on this sham of a sports league.

I'd replace sports league with scandal.

This is unacceptable to me

Like can I sue the NFL for my friend, a colt fan who I cate about deeply harass me over this non sense? Cause even tho he's my friend this is harassment the kind of **** I gotta put up with just by the team i root for.

Am I the only one who doesn't give a **** what the other fan bases say or think?

I used to, after CameraPlacementGate, but how can you still care when it's so transparently just pure jealously? I think those of you who are perpetually worried about what other fans think or say are going about things wrong.

They hate us cuz they ain't us.

They can talk all the **** they want to, but it's shallow, and despite all their ********, there's no week on their schedule they fear more than the week they play the Patriots.

It's all lies, from the smears, to the **** other fans say. They don't even believe it. Some of them might want it to be true, but the ones too smart to know that it is just say **** because they know it pisses you off.

Why it still does I have no idea. Just attack their intelligence and brag about how we have the GOAT quarterback. Everything else is noise, and by noise, I mean the insignificant whining of lesser fans of lesser teams.

I give zero ****s what anyone says.

Tom Brady is the GOAT and will always be remembered as such inside New England (and with many outside New England). What some illiterate douchebag in New Jersey or Miami thinks is pretty much irrelevant to me.

What bothers me the most? Is that 'we' are in a no win situation. 'Spygate' is something that never ended even years after the transgression. Most people (I would venture to say 99%) have no idea what the rules were and why the Patriots were punished. All they know is that the Patriots 'cheated' and they were punished for it. It was clear to me that Kraft probably instructed Beilichik and company to never mention it again, to lay down and take it up the '***' for the good of the game and never fight it. For years I would hear 18-1 haha, cheater never win, etc. No use trying to even argue with ignorant people.

After the story broke the day after the championship game, I was shocked, then disappointed. I suspected that there was no transgression, but the media would not let it go. At that point I realized that the media has successfully removed any happiness that I would get even if the Pats win the superbowl. It would be 'tainted' even if they won. The week of the super bowl, after they arrived here in AZ, when Kraft made his speech, I was pumped, I felt there was no doubt they would be vindicated. I truly believed that the Well's report would do a thorough investigation and point out all the inaccuracies in ball measurements, from the frequent squeeze method, to inaccurate gauges, to massive variances due to weather. I was also expecting them the 'scold' the NFL in allowing a 'sting' operation to proceed in a conference championship game and allowing even the possibility of deflated balls to be even a subject of controversy.

Instead, I read a report that is so subjective, and conclusions are so biased that it is obvious (to me) that their clearly was an underlying agenda.

So now, we are in a no win situation again. I strongly suspect that Brady will serve no suspension, but forever his legacy is 'tarnished' in the view of most of the nation. It does not matter that he did not cheat, or that there is no proof that he cheated, but it does matter to most because 'he is a liar'. Destroying the league, running up the score, and winning another superbowl will not change peoples minds. The only way peoples minds will change, is if can be proved that the league was vindictive, and unfairly started targeting the Patriots and Brady, and the haters are openly exposed. Goddell needs to go on TV and announce to the country that they (the NFL) was wrong in their judgment, and they are sorry for dragging the good name of Brady and the Patriots in the mud. I know this is never going to happen, so thus I hope that Brady is just as vindictive, and destroys the NFL as it is now. I hate saying this but after he wins his appeal, I would not fault him for retiring and then suing NFL for defamation. I will forever support Brady and belichick, but once they are gone (retired) I am done with football.

The fact the NFL thinks they are God when it comes to **** like this

For a month or so I bought into the whole "independent investigation" lie. I should have known after the hit job on Ritchie Incognito and the "no way did Mr. Goodell see the Ray Rice tape and hide it from the public" report.

I feel pretty dumb for that. And the internet trolls/ESPN worshippers annoy me also.

Like f*ucking really balls that were at the PSI they should have been and they are acting like he is the biggest cheater in the history of sports.

Just shows the people in the media knocking him havent actually read the report and are going off that slimeball wells.

Idiots on nfln saying come out on and tell the truth. Why? So when he says he has no knowledge of it and says he likes his footballs at 12.5-13 you can just say he is lying.

And they can piss off with this tainted legacy sh*t. Stats don't lie, neither does the SB performance.

Can't wait when this gets reversed and either the arbitrator or Doty's ruling is the wells report had no proof Brady had any knowledge of this and the NFL was wrong in suspending him.

The meltdown from all the haters in the media is going to be sweet.

When they say the Pats are cheaters, just look them in the eye and say "we don't have to cheat to beat you." what can they say? They know it's true.

The 1st round pick. They can keep everything else, I seriously don't care anymore. But a first ****ing round pick for this?

There's a lot, but I think the biggest thing, to me, is that Goodell and his minions are ruining the NFL. Ironically, they are doing this through their efforts to "protect" the game.

We're at a point where, if a team loses or thinks they might lose, they complain to the league and the media. Forget about improving their own team, just complain about the team that beat them. They'll win the publicity battle and maybe the league will punish that other team, so they might have a better chance to win next time. I think, even up through the 90s, if the Colts had complained to the league about the PSI of the footballs, they would be the ones who faced a PR backlash. They would have been mocked for using such a trivial matter as an excuse for losing. Now? Their concerns must be taken seriously.

This tattletale mentality feeds into Goodell's need to show everyone he's doing a great job by dishing out penalties. Of course, he hasn't considered any of the long term ramifications of slamming the Patriots with this latest ridiculous punishment. If the Patriots decide to publicly outline the inequitable treatment they've received from the league, that opens the door for people to wonder what else the league might be doing regarding their team. Schedule issues, referee assignments, bad calls, etc...all the normal gripes will take on a new tone as people wonder if there is a "Mike Kensil" involved who holds a grudge against their team or has some connection to a rival team. Once that ball gets rolling, forget about regaining your legitimacy.

If this does come to pass, it all would have been avoidable, but the league wanted to go down this path. From the week before the game, to the leaks, to the 4 month investigation, to the punishment, they had opportunities to go in different directions, but were dead set on doing things this way.

The talking heads are driving me crazy! Where to even begin. I hate how they keep saying things like "he obviously did something". Really? Show me where in the report suggests this? I can't stand how they keep talking with such certainty...turning a "more probable than not" to a "without a shadow of doubt". Outright ignoring the science, ignoring the breach of the rules as evidenced in the 16 psi text, ignoring the Colts undeniably breaking the rules by measuring the Pats ball on the sidelines, blanket statement that the Pats and TB didn't cooperate without fully telling the entire story, that TB should just come clean and be honest...this one really pisses me off, the Pats are habitual cheaters, "deflator"....and on and on. I can't wait to hear them when this is TRULY over and the breaking news over the radio "all of TBs suspension has been dropped and he is going forward with a formal lawsuit against the NFL. Patriots org to follow suit with their own lawsuit against the NFL."

What bothers me most about this? The eternal tainting of years worth of cherished memories that I have invested so much time, effort, money, and most importantly emotion into. Now people laugh and tell me that all of those memories are worthless and that I am an idiot for holding stock in them. And in the future I was looking forward to the immortalization of Tom Brady as he played out the twilight years of the most accomplished career in the history of the sport. I was looking forward to looking back on those memories for the rest of my days as some of the most fun I've ever had. The last couple years of elite play, the countless honors and retrospectives by the sports media, the record hall of fame voting, and the most important induction speech in Patriots history. His career was on the cusp of being perfect. All of that is gone forever because now noone will be allowed to say his name without a snicker and a wise ass remark by some *******.

That's what bothers me the most about this.

I appreciate your passion for the Patriots but you need to stop caring what Jet and Colt and Peyton fans think about this media invention. If you were ever under the impression that a 4th ring would suddenly bring all of our rivals into the `fawning over Tom` camp, you were wrong.

America is not a monolithic nation of people that support its national stars. It's not like we're Germans all rallied behind our biggest soccer hero. We're Americans and we all ****ing hate each other. New Englanders have nothing in common with the deep south, and the deep south has nothing to do with girly-men Californians, or dudes who moved to the pacific North West and relinquished their testicles to own property in Seattle. The 80s are long ****ing gone. We are an entirely different kind of society now.

All that matters is New Englanders give Brady his due.

I don't give a flying **** if some miscreant Jets fan on Jersey shore, who works at McDonalds, wants to admit Tom is the GOAT or not.

I see Patriot fans all over the internet battling the haters with a perpetual whine (why is it the people who are the worst at arguing always go out looking to do missionary work on behalf of our team?)

Everything they say is wrong and their tactics are embarrassing.

Let me simplify your life for you: They hate us cuz they ain't us.
