Why? He delivered what they wanted. It's the same reason the NBA puts the same crappy officials in for big games year after year even though their integrity has been called into question. The end result is all that matters.

the league's failure to address the issue BEFORE the AFCC will be the ultimate undoing of any punishment they hand out

the NFLPA will not allow one of their players to be railroaded.......especially Brady

Goodell has turned this whole thing into **** and this will ultimately lead to his undoing.......there is so much incompetence at every turn of this event that even if Brady is punished, someone will have to answer in a big way for a completely bungled sting operation....Brady just looks like a cheater right now......the league office looks like a complete stupidity as they have put themselves in a position to lose regardless of which direction they turn

Roger Goodell looks like a pedophile so there's a probable chance he is one

What's your problem, seriously?

I'm basing it on personal experience, just like you are.

no......I'm basing it on actual evidence displayed

the real question is 'what's your problem?' why do you draw conclusions with no facts?

This has turned into a high stakes card game - both sides have doubled-down. All the negative stuff on Brady and the two ball boys is out there. Pats turn to dish it out. League obviously mangled things here as you said, it's time to get that out on the table.

He also refused to show people his emails and texts so this is more probable than not proof of what you said being the case.

The NFL looks stupid right now with heresay evidence. Roger Goodell and Ted Wells are the scum of the earth

There are 3 things with regards to the overall measurement which should get that "evidence" thrown out.

1) We have NO IDEA what the starting points were pre-game. They are going by the refs memory

2) They only measured 4 of the Colts balls which likely skews the average compared the the Patriots (good or bad, we don't know, but still it makes a flawed comparison)

3) Assuming the Colts balls were measured after the Patriots, the pressure had longer to normalize.

and in spite of all of that 8 of 11 balls when measured by one of the gauges were still within the acceptable range laid out by their assumed numbers in an experiment conducted by a company that went to court defending tobacco companies claiming they had "proof" that smoking doesnt cause cancer.

It sounds like 3 out of the 4 balls measured from the colts were under the limit too.

One question I have that I still have not seen anyone address is why was the ball intercepted by the Colts not gauged? Is there a reason in the report? This whole thing was set off by allegations by the Colts that the balls were deflated, but yet they never measured the ball intercepted by the Colts? What if that one came in at 9 PSI, wouldn't that question the validity of the Colts?

At this point, I honestly have no idea of wtf you're talking about. I offered an opinion of McNally's texts, you offered an opinion of Mcnally's texts.

An opinion. Just an opinion. I see McNally's texts as familiar to my own life experience - in that, I've experienced similar things and it's just goofy **** in the end.

To us. The general public, however, is very stupid when it comes to matters that don't directly affect their interests. They're even more stupid when it comes to matters which negatively affect something or someone they have a negative view on. So it's doubtful that most of the public actually read (forget about understands) the report.

Furthermore, is that not the ball given to the Colts EM and then Kensil?

IIRC, there were reports of Kensil breaking league protocol by gauging this football.

Perhaps this is why it was conveniently not gauged at HT by the officials?

It's hilarious isn't it and shows how shoddy this whole thing is.

Yeah they will fire him for goofing around. But Brady would quietly tolerate a guy´´ blackmailing`` him to prepare a ball at will in exchange for autographs.

Blackmailing? You think a part-time ball boy is ACTUALLY blackmailing, or trying to blackmail, Tom Brady? Blackmailing him with what? Threatening to not prepare the balls as Brady wants? That'd work once and he'd be fired...

blackmail

Blackmail
The crime involving a threat for purposes of compelling a person to do an act against his or her will, or for purposes of taking the person's money or property.

it'll be out on the table the moment the NFL tries to suspend Brady......just look at the reality check the NFLPA gave them when wife beaters and child beaters were suspended......this one is a slam dunk.....

has anyone ever been suspended for tampering with balls? NOPE
has Brady ever been in trouble with the league before? NOPE
is there a single bit of evidence that stipulates Brady's intent to go outside of the game ball requirements? NOPE

did an employee with direct access to the issue repeatedly express dissatisfaction with Brady? YUP
did an employee with direct access to the balls repeatedly express intent to alter the balls beyond the specification as a vendetta type tactic? YUP

see how that looks now!

The Yee charge is important because it signals there will be a fight over the innuendo in it.

In other words, this ain't over yet. The Brady people are going to seek to open this up. This is going to go on and on and on.

He is challenging Wells to release ALL his information.

Apparently that one was gauged several time by the Colts.

Like with most things in the investigation, it didn't make a whole lot of sense.

It's funny - I actually do think the texting between ball boys is suspicious. Or rather, their explanations of the texts are - frankly I think there are ways to interpret them as innocuous, but some of their explanations come up short.

However, there is really no evidence that Brady was even generally aware of an attempt to circumvent the rules. Furthermore, the scientific evidence is very shoddily interpreted by the hired guns the NFL got.

Not sure how this all plays out. Might be a situation where everyone loses, but Brady has taken the brunt so far, so its the NFL's turn. They clearly butchered this whole situation really badly.
