Speaking of Rogers, he's a pretty big Union guy and it would not shock me if he had more to say in Brady's defense.
No player will say anything in his defense or against it . I am quite sure of it.

Look no matter what our guys put themselves in this place, it's like a kid who says it wasn't their fault, it might know have been but then again they allowed themselves to be in the crossfire. Where's there's smoke...right.

And if anyone thinks I'm not a die hard Pats fan I invite you out to my home to see for yourself. But I won't be blinded my fandom either.

Sad to be honest....just so disappointing because we all now how this ends and nothing we say or think will change it.

Why? Rogers already has.

I do want to say this about Brady.

He didn’t seem like himself in that initial press conference when this first came out. That could have been for a bunch of different reasons, but he didn’t. And now this report is out. A wishy-washy “I don’t think I broke the rules” or whatever won’t cut it.
If he had nothing to do with this, he should be furious, and he should come out and be furious.
If he did have something to do with it—whatever that might be—he should just say whatever it is. Bite the bullet, which I’m sure would be very hard, particularly since Kraft stood up for him. Say, most QBs mess with the balls to get them the way they want. Or look, a lot of times they’re OVER-inflated, and I want to make sure that doesn’t happen. Or maybe even worst case…he says, yeah, I have my guys take some air out…it seemed like pretty harmless gamesmanship that goes on all the time, and I lied because the big furor about it honestly caught me off-guard….there’s a lot of stuff that goes on in this league, and I couldn’t believe that slightly underinflated footballs would be treated so seriously. I didn't know how to react. But I know our record of excellence has made us a target, and I should have been more aware of that. I’m not perfect…but we’ll take whatever punishment the league wants to dish out, and we’ll be ready to compete (translation, crush everyone) again next year...
I am NOT saying he did anything wrong, and at this point he might be inviting greater punishment by admitting anything. But it would still be preferable to stonewalling.
But if he knows nothing about any of this? Go BALLISTIC. Hell, if it was me I’d be out there now.

Lets remember at the time of "that initial press conference" we were headed to the Super Bowl. What's he going to say? Of course, if he did something, he's going to deny it. I would.

Let's say he was involved in deflating balls. It's such a minor thing. He accomplished more in the second half of the Colts game when the balls were at regulation PSI then he did when the balls had been customized. He won the Super Bowl with regulation PSI footballs. I was a receiver. There were footballs I liked, and footballs I didn't like. If I could have found a way to guarantee that every ball that was thrown my way was a football I liked the feel of, I would have done it. That's human nature. People around the league are going to point the finger at Brady. So what? We know who Brady is. It's like being a veteran. Most of these people who pretend to be pro American, pro veteran, have absolutely no idea what it takes to be in a combat zone day after day, carrying a rifle, and not knowing if you'll ever go home again. Most people have no idea what it takes to play at the level the Patriots play at. So, if you are a combat veteran, or a Patriot, or a serious Patriot's fan, you know what it takes. That's enough folks. That's all you need. Once you begin to play the blame game, you lose. You're taking away from yourself the understanding of what it takes.

F___ 'em. We know who the Patriots are.

whatever buddy....your just to quick for me.
It's "you're" and "too".....obviously he's too quick for you.....stick around though...we can translate all the big words for you.
By the way, how the hell are you going to read a 243 page report?

McNally: Tom sucks...im going make that next ball a ****in balloon
Jastremski: Talked to him last night. He actually brought you up and said you must have a lot of stress trying to get them done...
Jastremski: I told him it was. He was right though...
Jastremski: I checked some of the balls this morn... The refs ****ed us...a few of then were at almost 16 Jastremski: They didnt recheck then after they put air in them"

My problem with interpreting this as McNally deflating the balls after the refs check them is the timeline. While the "stress" line can be interpreted as stress trying to illegally deflate the balls, the timeline doesn't support that interpretation at all. They are talking about an away game where the refs didn't recheck the balls after they inflated them to nearly 16 PSI. Why would they refer to stress altering the balls after the refs here?

I think the clear and sensible interpretation is that Brady was pissed after the game and the 'stress' is in trying to get the balls to Tom's desires, within regulation, and through the refs. That would make the most sense in the context after an away game. If you do take these texts in that context than there is nothing else to suggest illegal activity. So McNally went to the bathroom. So what. He didn't originally say he stopped in the bathroom when question about the balls. It was less than two minutes. Maybe he forgot and it didn't mater... because taking a piss is something you do everyday. It doesn't always pop in your head "oh yeah, i took a piss, I gotta make sure to mention that right now!" I'm sure in the first questioning he didn't think he was giving a legal alibi that would be contested!

Even if the Wells conclusion were true, you have to admit it's a Mickey Mouse claim. Even Wells admits in a footnote that it had no effect on the game; Brady played better with the proper ball.

Just a side note .... Jaz and McNally may be getting a call from the IRS ... unfortunately for them.

So, the guy deciding Tom Brady's "penalty" is a cornerback he used to flambe on a regular basis?

I'm sure this will end well.

Just curious, how did Wells attack the science from the guys at MIT, did he hired Erhardt Von Grupten Mundt from "Thank You for Smoking"? :)

"These guys realized quick if they were gonna claim cigarettes were not addictive they better have proof. This is the man they rely on, Erhardt Von Grupten Mundt. They found him in Germany. I won't go into the details. He's been testing the link between nicotine and lung cancer for thirty years, and hasn't found any conclusive results. The man's a genius, he could disprove gravity."

@PriscoCBS: Imagine if Peyton Manning was caught in the deflation mess instead of golden boy Tommy?

Sorry, the media is killing me with this crap :D

The NFL publicly said they would eject Marshawn Lynch from the NFC Championship Game if he wore gold cleats. A one-game suspension for gold-freaking-cleats. Link: http://www.foxsports.com/nfl/story/...hawn-lynch-pete-carroll-russell-wilson-011815

I'm just a visiting Seahawks fan, but after reading a lot of this report and all the text messages in it, Brady deserves to be suspended for a good number of games. Sorry, most of you won't like it, but too bad. Compare what the league was threatening to do to Lynch in a critical playoff game FOR THE COLOR OF HIS CLEATS to what everyone now FACTUALLY knows about Brady from this report and there is literally no defense in favor of not suspending Brady.

Fact, not opinion.

Unlike you many of us are reading the report and are finding huge holes in it.

The company used to do the science are hired guns, who for example produced 'science' for Tobacco companies 'proving' that cigs don't cause cancer. Funny there was experiments done at Columbia right in NYC, Harvard, Carnagie Mellon, yet they went to these guys.

We also note that there were NO record of PSI at the start of the game, merely the claim of the ref which was assumed to be 100% correct.

We also noted that Brady started to pay attention to the ball PSI until after the balls he had used were at 16 psi at the end of the Jets game.

Much more but I realize you are just bitter that he shredded the Hawks D with balls fully in spec.

Oh my what do I do now....read the whole thing already big guy. It's forum so get over over it..or choke on something I don't really care either way Mr. Wizard.

Somehow, you think the idiot comments will change what's going to happen...good luck with that. You must be one of the guys that thought the Pats would be proven innocent also...worked out well didn't it.

It's all silly because as @Dr Pain says, only 3 of the balls are really coming in under the scientifically expected level and it's only by a very small amount. However, this is assuming that every single ball was inflated to EXACTLY 12.5 PSI, which we can be sure was not the case, since the measurements were not taken pregame and all we have to go off of is Anderson's memory. Most likely, 3 of the balls were a little below 12.5 PSI, leading to those 3 balls being a little below 11.27 PSI at halftime. Similarly, some were likely above 12.5 PSI, leading to the footballs coming in above 11.27.

It stuns me to believe that Kraft did not have a team of experts from, say, MIT conduct an experiment over the last month or so.

He should have had one ready to go as soon as they provided him with an early copy of the report.

And then he should have preempted the Wells BS.

He should have said, "Wells used a stooge outfit that provide's defense witness testimony, while we used Phyisicists at MIT."

Yep a few ticks of PSI makes manning better than Brady. How the hell is that jests mediot so sure manning doesn't overinflate?

Love how people are also ignoring the fact that with the correct measured psi he shredded the Colts in the 2nd half and the Seahawks in the SB.

Everyone will jump of hoops to exonerate him.
