Who are we cutting to add these UDFAs?
I think what is happening is that there will be five signings, plus a few players brought in for tryouts. I recall the Pats did the same thing last year. There were a couple players last year that went on twitter saying 'I'm going to Foxboro', 'I'm a Patriot', etc., and it turned out that either wasn't the case, or that they were only invited for a tryout.
The original five that would have brought the roster up to 90 were:
- Dave Andrews (C, Georgia)
- Devin Gardner (WR/QB, Michigan)
- Jimmy Jean (CB, Alabama-Birmingham)
- Chris Harper (WR, California)
- Brandon King (S, Auburn)
Mike Reiss reported some contract info (above) on Harper and Gardner, so that's two definite signings.
It is now being reported that the Pats also signed Vanderbilt DT Vince Taylor, so one of Andrews, Jean and King could just an invite for a tryout, rather than someone else being cut.
The Patriots have also reportedly invited Sam Houston State TE Shane Young for a tryout.

Vanderbilt's Vince Taylor signs with Patriots | The Tennessean
Vanderbilt defensive lineman Vince Taylor signed an undrafted free agent contract with the New England Patriots on Monday afternoon.
Taylor, who had earlier accepted a non-contracted invitation to attend Oakland Raiders mini-camp, changed course by inking with the Patriots, the team that flew to Nashville to work him out the week before the draft.
Taylor confirmed his signing via text message. He will arrive in Foxborough, Mass., on Thursday to prepare for mini-camp.
Taylor, a 6-foot-1, 307-pounder, has played nose tackle in a 3-4 scheme and defensive tackle in a 4-3 alignment. He could do both for the Patriots, who utilize both 3-man and 4-man fronts.
Last season, Taylor led Vanderbilt interior defensive linemen with 43 tackles and a team-high two fumble recoveries. He finished his career with 87 tackles in 50 games, including 22 starts over the past two seasons.
