I guessed you missed the part where Kravitz was actively trolling and insulting Patriot fans over the resulting ****storm of Deflategate. No, his Twitter account is not separate from the paper he writes for and it is not separate from him as a "professional" reporter. He doesn't get to play the I'm just doing my job card and then take to Twitter and taunt and troll Patriot fans for the results of his report.

For example:

Bob Kravitz @bkravitz
Pats fans: give up the fantasy. Your brilliant head coach is also a cheat. 11 of 12 balls deflated. Must be the ball boys fault right?

Bob Kravitz @bkravitz · Jan 22
Ok so how did those footballs magically deflate themselves? Suggestions?

Bob Kravitz @bkravitz · Jan 22
The equipment guy is either gonna get fired or drive a new land rover.

Bob Kravitz @bkravitz · Jan 22
He was charming enough but I don't believe Brady. Not in the least. He had to know.

Note: below he Tweets "something new for New England fans to read" and follows it up with his if Goodell has any integrity he will fire Belichick rant.

But the guy is just a hard working professional who just happened to "report" the news? Give me a break.

Something new for New England fans to read: http://www.wthr.com/story/27901962/kravitz-pats-nfl-need-to-come-down-hard-on-belichick-for-deflategate…

F**k Bob Kravitz.

Definitely f**k Rog Goodell too.

Goodell is good at the business side of the NFL but he really isn't that great at the football side of the NFL. His discipline of players and teams is inconsistent and at times downright laughable. With the amount of inaccurate leaks, he can't even manage his own staff. As time goes by, he seems to be universally hated by fans everywhere.

I will disagree about goodell. He has made some moves that increased short term profits at the expense of player safety, future profits and the integrity of the game.

There are lots of parallels in the business world of fly by night companies that crash and burn and companies built to last. More Thursday night games, more games a year, restrictions on practices and a freaking team in London are going to end up in teams having 80% of their players barely able to walk at any one time, but oh those ratings.

Plus, this foolish grasping for the non-fan by pushing stupid pick em all pro games and reality show type hype will end up with lots of new fans who will leave for the next trend, while the real football fans will just get sick of it, like a lot of basketball and baseball fans did when the product was degraded.

He's the strip miner of commissioners.

I also noticed that he got booed mercilessly anytime he came anywhere near the stage. I wonder if the owners noticed that. Of course, maybe that's part of the design.

Well, pro wrestling sells tickets.

The NFL has had record profitability and popularity in spite of Goodell. Even WITH all the controversy. He's far from incompetent. His job as commissioner is first and foremost, is to increase the value of the NFL brand. Even with all the negative issue the NFL has faced, it benefits from the fact that rarely in these cases is there such a thing as bad publicity.

Fixed it for you. Remember Barry Switzer won a Super Bowl taking over a thriving team.....

August 8th, 2006 his tenure started. Competency is determined by the people who employ you. Add to that, no commissioner has ever had to operate in the current 24/7 news-media environment like Goodell. Hence, no commissioners actions have ever been under such a high level of scrutiny. Guys like Rozelle and even Tagliabue could much easier control or sweep potential black eyes for the league under the rug. But hey, facts are dumb.

They didn't SWEEP ISSUES UNDER THE RUG, they DEALT WITH ISSUES IN PRIVATE COMPETENTLY:
1, go-to-hell CHOSE to make himself the center of attention on all the issues.
2. If the fans and nflpa-players felt the NFL was consistent and equal about punishments maybe they wouldn't be continuously outraged

You can't claim he is actually competent just because his incompetence makes his job harder than his predecessors

Also, despite being in a supposed NEW news-media environment, no one is following roger around with a camera to publicize despicable facts about him (like say that he is NOT A LAWYER or a IS A FORMER JETS EMPLOYEE [except here on patsfans]). The news-media are just focused on players , coaches and owners they have subjected NO ONE at the league to intense scrutiny, even though that might be deserved

Did anyone else notice Danny Shelton hug Roger Goodell and lift him off the floor?

Was anyone else thinking "OK now body slam him?

Me neither......

I honestly was hoping Shelton would snap 'ol Goody in two.

Oh yeah, ....it requires some measure of skill. I just don't see any evidence that he has any.

Look, I get your point. It's easy to sit back and criticize. But what actual skills or qualifications did this guy bring to the table other than having the good fortune to be born into a rich and powerful family?

No sh*t it's a tough, complicated job where you have to be mindful of politics. So give the job to Tyrion Lannister; not King Joffrey.

Condoleezza Rice claimed that her dream job was to some day become NFL commissioner. Too bad the job came up too early for her to be considered in 2006. She couldn't possibly have been worse than Fraudger.

goodell is a boob. plain and simple. man cannot even pronounce mariota.

I'm curious about what sort of commissioner we would have if the owners were all fans of the game who legitimately cared about competitive integrity. The sad reality is that most of them are just bullsh*t businessmen who care only about their egos and money. Hence, the fans are treated to the likes of Goodell as NFL commissioner.

Rice is just another bullsh*t politician. Hard to say whether she'd be any better or worse then c*cksucking, motherf*cking Goodell.

Any accusations regarding Goodell's incompetence are purely speculative and mostly sour grapes. Any person that is able to put themselves in a position to be commissioner of the NFL and achieve the earning power he has can never be considered incompetent.
I think one can reasonably argue that Goodell is competent to do the job that Commissioner used to be: manage a sports enterprise by negotiating contracts with unions and networks and keep the trains running on time when it comes to the day by day management of the league, which is primarily to keep the cash pouring into the owners' pockets.

But, the job has evolved into one that requires a skill set more along the lines of the skill set of the head of a multi-billion dollar entertainment business, especially when it comes to crisis management. Goodell is clearly in way over his head on this side of the job as was proven multiple times last year. I would be surprised if the Owners extended his contract beyond its current duration, but they would never be able to admit their misjudgment about the new requirements of the job and actually fire him or ask him to quietly step down.
