I don't care that the Dolphins landed Suh; that the Jets got Revis; or any other significant signing because we just won free agency. Does the league not understand what Brady can do with someone that possesses 70% of Gronk's ability?

But Can brady play cb? We need to get upgrades to the backfield! Or else both teams will just score on each possession like 2-3 years ago. Our backfield sucks right now so i hope they will adress D soon

I actually like Dennard and Ryan. They obviously are a step back but both seem to get their fair share of interceptions when given significant time. Then we have Arrington on the slot and Butler has shown some promise. It is not all gloom. If we can get our hands on a big corner, similar to Browner to deal with over-sized receivers, then we will be in decent shape.

Good signing, another big target for the red zone.. and the Profootball focus info on his pass blocking efficiency is quite telling.

Does this mean Tim Wright is gone? Haven't been following the TE talk that much. Would we carry three?

I like the move (obviously depending on the price.) We've all been waiting for the Patriots to put an average starting TE on the field with Gronkowski and see what happens. Looks like we finally will.

The Patriots carried three all season in 2014 - Gronk, Wright and Hooman. Chandler is a cool addition, especially since at 6'8" 260, Chandler is actually bigger than Gronkowski 6'6" 265. Twin towers who can both catch the football. Wow.

I wonder if Tim Wright drops some weight and transitions to WR. His size is more along the lines of a big wideout at 6'4", 220 than as a tight end.

Josh is in the dungeon cooking up something for Turncoat Revis and Paternity Test Cromartie (12 kids from 9 different women) right now with Gronk, Lafell, Tyms, Chandler and Wright in a five wide. Need a ladder Darrelle?

In regards to the question of his blocking ability:

"1:30 SIGNING! Taking a break from the run of Saints-related topics, Adam Schefter has the Patriots signing for Bills tight end Scott Chandler who was let go by Buffalo earlier in the week. Forever on the lookout for additional options at the position, New England brings in the eight-year vet who finished at the top of the Pass Blocking Efficiency table for tight ends in 2014, charged with no pressures allowed on 38 pass-blocking snaps."

I'm not sure how much I care about pass blocking for a tight end, especially one who's so valuable as a receiver. Run blocking is typically more relevant for a tight end.

Hopefully the Pats move on from Hooman. Chandler is a big upgrade as a second in-line TE for depth behind Gronk and as a red zone target. Cronk-Chandler-Wright plus Develin as a FB/H-Back is a strong group.

Add Reggie Bush and/or Percy Harvin and the offense has upgraded Brady's weapons. DE is also upgraded. OL, DT and CB are the big areas to sort out.

Then I guess I can safely assume that you aren't an NFL QB :)

Well, a safe assumption yes, haha. But seriously, the stats quoted were for 38 total snaps over the course of an entire season. That's 6.5% of the Bills total pass attempts. It's great that he did so well, but again I can't drum up a lot of excitement or concern over something that happens less than 7% of the time.

Rex proves once again what a master of offense he truly is...cut Chandler...now he'll steal Sudfeld from the Jets...

That says nothing about the more important run blocking.

But all this time I thought you were Blaine Gabbert!

Might not work so well against the Jets though.
I'm not sure what you're getting at, but considering that the Jets biggest strengths are their corners and their DL, two giant TEs seems like one of the best ways to attack them.

The two headed TE monster is back! Release the Kraken!

I have always like Chandler (Probably because he has had great games against us). Him and Gronk are going to be a match up nightmare in the redzone.:)

Good signing, we have always had a hard time covering him and he definitely upgrades the position.
