It is really too bad (that since they are both head coaches) there is no way for them to work together.

I never had much of an issue w/Rex. Great defensive mind and he certainly spiced up the AFC East when he showed up. Made it more interesting than it had been in a while. Even though he looked like a clown in the process.

I like Rex. If he ever had a QB or a competent organisation he could be very good.

He's a likable blowhard. He's a really good defensive coach and I respect the fact that he decided to stay in the East instead of tucking tail and running. That Bill's defense is going to be really tough and loading up on the OL is the best answer for dealing with it.

Rex: Hey Bill, maybe we'll get to play eachother in the home opener. That would be sweet!
BB: Yeah, that would be sweet. I should have my 4th ring by then and you can kiss all of them that night.

I was waiting for one of the funny frank caliendo videos when I clicked on this lol

Great picture!

Although the perspective must be off. There's about a 10" difference in actual height, isn't there?

I like that the two are actually friendly. Rex was a great foil while he wore the evil green.

Maybe Rex is actually 5 feet behind Bill in deference to his greatness.

He screwed up every facet of the Jets so I'm not sure how a QB would help a lot.
Bottom 3rd in defense, terrible on offense, locker room problems, players quitting on him, created an atmosphere where his players bragged about being 'the best 5-11 team', consistently set forth a mindset where the players couldn't keep their mouth shut, or back it up.
Rex Ryan is a loser, and if he is in charge, will ultimately lose where ever he goes, and with whatever support he is given.

Ryan wearing a Thurman Thomas throwback jersey? That is wicked f#cking weak! Should Belichick counter with a Tony Collins? Or perhaps Leonard Russell??????

Do they actually dislike each other? I kinda get the sense that they're kinda friendly but maybe it's just me making that up.

Terrific Defensive Coordinator. Bad head coach. Romeo, Charlie, Josh and loads of others fall into that category. Not one bit of shame in it, either. Just the way it is.

OVERRATED Defensive Coordinator. Check the numbers, the ones that matter.
What does Rex the DC/HC not have in common with the others you mentioned?
A ring (or even a trip to a SB)

I like Rex, had he moved to a different division I would root for him to have some success.

I'm curious if he had other options on the table.
