OVERRATED Defensive Coordinator. Check the numbers, the ones that matter.
What does Rex the DC/HC not have in common with the others you mentioned?
A ring (or even a trip to a SB)
Umm. Rex Ryan is a hell of a lot better of a head coach than Josh McDaniels was. Not sure why you brought that up lol.

And Romeo as a head coach? Yuck.

Rex made 2 straight AFC Championship games, and is easily one of the best defensive minds in football. He made Brady look mortal and almost beat the Pats at the end of the year by somehow coaching up nobodies in his incompetent secondary to a pretty good level of play.

Considering the comment was directed toward his ability as a coordinator, I'm not sure what McDaniel, Crennel, or Weis' HC experience has to do with it.

Wait, the guy who guaranteed SBs is great because he lost 2 AFCCG and missed the playoff 4 times?
He is most certainly not one of the greatest defensive minds in the game, unless you consider results to be a meaningless gauge of greatness.

Brady beat him 9 of 13 and 7 of the last 8.
How is 4-12 'coaching up to a pretty good level of play'. Dude they were 4-12 and you are saying the way his team played is a positive on his resume as a coach. My God.
Oh and that 'pretty good level of play' was 24th in points allowed and dead last in takeaways, so I guess there were only about 3 teams that didn't play at a 'pretty good level'.
No wonder you don't understand the meaning of great.

Rex's Jets almost always played the Pats tough ( with the exception of the occasional butt-fumble game), and their defense usually did a good job of limiting Brady. But maybe this could be attributed to Rex's obsession with New England. The jets watched the Giants beat the Pats twice with a great defensive line, and so every spring the Jets ignored every other roster hole and kept drafting DLs.

This would've been fine if the Jets were loaded with talent and we're on the cusp of of a championship. But they weren't, and so they ended up with a team that could hang with the pats but would get blown out by teams like the Bills Bears and Vikings every year
