The Official Belichick Post Press Conference Thread

Absolutely LOVED Belichick's attitude and demeanor at today's presser.
Couldn't be happier to see it. Been wanting the Patriots to have a strident response to this media witch hunt all along. That was their big mistake with Spygate, where they allowed everyone else to narrate the story and define what that was all about.

Today proved that a lesson was learned from that experience - never allow your enemies (the media) to go unchallenged as they attempt to define you.

The momentum of this story is changing.

And a tip of the cap to Drew Bledsoe. His defense of Tom Brady and his calling out of Troy Aikmen and Mark Brunnell was awesome. Always loved Drew. Great integrity.

An underrated gem from today's presser

Reporter: How much time did you spend on the study?

Belichick:I didn’t log it.”

You got that too huh? That was classic BB!
He was taking a shot at the referees for not doing their job, ie measuring the psi readings of all the balls pregame. They didn't measure them scientifically and they didn't record the readings in the event there were to be a dispute. Slip shod and lazy job by the refs and Gooddell has egg on his face. What do expect from this crew of supposed all star referees?

Bill to refs "What are you some kind of half-ass astronaut?" "Don't tell me how to do my job again."

I was ready to run right through my Effin dining room wall after that epic BB performance I can't even imagine the rage this team is going to walk onto that field with. My wife, not a huge football fan, even pulled herself away from her Netflix Kindle shows to jump in and scream FUs with me praising our beloved Chief....

Captain, Oh Captain, Thank you !!!!

Belichick was EPIC! Logical, collected, scientific. Handled the Spygate questions with aplomb. Made it clear that he stands by his team, they did their homework on the process, and there was no INTENT by the Pats to gain a competitive advantage by the way they prepared the footballs. Even threw in a movie reference!

Here is a yahoo reaction article to the presser:

Even the writer is impressed by how BB handled it!

My best friend is a hardcore Dolphins man, hates all things Pats. Thinks Belichick was impressive and saved the Pats, called him Superman. Lol

Update on that Ravens fan from earlier: The pressure gauge he had is designed for tires so he's going to buy one for a ball and have a go tomorrow instead.

Does he work for the NFL?

Dipshit Goodell thought he could run roughshod over this organization and restore his credibility. He decided to come in guns blazing to show everyone who the sheriff is and now he's come out looking like bigger fool than when he started because he spent weeks and millions to get an eighth grade science class.

If I was Kraft I'd demand my money back. Go get a Leapfrog and learn this on your own dime next time dumb****.
Iam disappointed the Krafts have not offered a similar standing supporting their team.

What gets lost in all this….Patriots do a scientific investigation, come up with real answers. What does NFL say? We conducted 40 interviews!

Hey, NFL, you are an incompetent bunch of bumbling ass MORONS and I hope you all rot in hell.

Conducting 40 interviews looking only for the answers that fit the predetermined conclusion is the only proper way to conduct a witch hunt.

Haha, he really was ****in epic....

I love that man. I will relish every single game he coaches for the pats even more so now. Best coach without a doubt that will coach a boston sports team in my lifetime.

BB lays the foundation for that to be the logical next step for the league to take. Shift the focus.

Our balls shrink in the cold weather, why didn't yours? Did you heat them up?;)

I'll be honest... I don't think Belichick *cares* what Indy does. He put out facts about their preparation process which show it's inexact. Whatever the Colts did is up to them. I doubt he thinks PSI has any appreciable effect on the game. All he knows is: they're being accused of cheating a rule whose process of measurement or enforcement is so inexact, there's no reasonable way of holding anyone accountable.

Still no word from Bob Kravitz since yesterday...NFL needs to investigate his leak.

A leak? <sigh> Yet another bladder problem....

I agree although I think part of him wants to see some hurt come down on the Colts and Ravens.

what a load of crap..

In a scenario where the NFL finds the cause to be an innocent one, the NFL would still want to know why the Patriots staff did not detect the problem. Depending on the league’s findings, the Patriots might still be punished, but it would likely be exclusively in the form of a fine.
Sadly the league to save its ego wil still find some way to fine the team it looks like

That presscon reminded me of Godfather 2, when they fly in Pentangeli's brother from Italy, turning the senate inquiry on its head, with Michael Corleone even demanding that the senators offer him an apology. So epic.

That was a side of BB that I think players love but we rarely get to see. He sold me on his theory except for one point that I hope someone else here could clear up. How would the preparation of balls before the game increase the PSI of the balls by 1 pound per square inch?

The preparation is about getting any slick covering on the football worn off. It's removed by scuffing. I don't know if they use a rough brush or what... but the friction associated with rubbing the football down raises the football's temperature (think rubbing your hands together to warm them). Raising the temp will raise the PSI.
