Biggest threat in the AFC

The Patriots got their asses beat by Miami and K.C. this season. To act as if yesterday, Denver's only bad loss of the season, is some proof that Denver is the soft team is nothing more than acting like a homer displaying a selective memory.

As for hyping Denver, I said at the start that it's Denver and NE, and then everyone else. Nothing has changed that.

Are you really John Elway's latest ski-bunny plaything?

0-5

1*-3

Those numbers don't lie.

We own Denver. Brady owns Jack Del Rio. Brady owns Manning. Belichick owns Manning. Belichick owns Fox. Gronk owns everybody.

The Denver Broncos are sweet children of the summer, and winter is coming.

Last year the AFC play offs we're laid with a red carpet for them. Injured San Diego and badly injured New England, coming off our worst off season ever, only to get absolutely humiliated in the Superbowl.

Peyton has lost to most of the good teams he's played since arriving in Colorado.

Without allowing the media to affect your better judgement, you would see that Denver is a flashier Cincinnati Bengals with a much more famous quarterback.

The numbers do lie. The fact that you're tossing in that asterisk is a pretty clear demonstration of it.

Did your TV cut out a minute into yesterday's game?

2005 Patriots lose to Broncos week 6, lose to Broncos in Divisional round
2006 Patriots lose to Colts week 9, lose to Colts in AFCCG
2007 Patriots beat Giants week 17, lose to Giants in SB
2009 Patriots beat Ravens week 4, lose to Ravens in WC round
2010 Patriots beat Jets 45-3 week 13, lose to Jets in Divisional round
2011 Patriots lose to Giants week 9, lose to Giants in SB
2012 Patriots lose to Ravens week 3, lose to Ravens in AFCCG
2013 Patriots beat Broncos week 12, lose to Broncos in AFCCG

So, in the post SB era, the Patriots have lost to a team they played in the regular season, in every single playoff year. Half the time, they've lost to a team that they had already beaten in the regular season, including the Broncos just last year.

My TV is just fine, thanks.

Don't sleep on Buffalo then!
Agreed. I might be overlooking them a bit too much. I just dont see them as a legitimate threat.

I've got to agree with @Deus Irae here that nothing's changed, and that DEN is still without a doubt, the biggest obstacle in the AFC.

I feel as though others have backed up some solid points as well, mostly on the "Denver is soft" analysis, which I do agree with.

That said, I feel as though Manning and their weapons will always make them a very tough out, and I'd prefer not to see them again in the postseason.

I sure as hell would like to avoid having to attempt to beat Manning and all of those weapons again twice in the same season. I would fully expect them to say the same thing about us, were the shoe on the other foot.

#1 threat- Denver. As long as Peyton can consistently throw those go routes perfectly in stride, he will always be a threat.

#2 Miami. If you actually look at their roster, you will see a solid team and they have actually beat us the last TWO times. Wake, Grimes, etc. For the last decade+, I never look past this team.

#3 San Diego. For years now, they are a streaky team that can beat anyone if slept on.

#4 KC. Solid team and I can't ignore that beating they put on us. Plus their field sucks.

**i don't fear teams w/ #1 wr that are quick and small like Hilton, Antonio Brown, etc. We seem to contain these kind of guys pretty well long before we got Revis and co.

Not relevant. We're talking about this team (The Tom and Gronk era).

It's complete and decisive ownage.

Of course it's relevant. And we're done here.

Miami and pittsburgh seem pretty tough to beat. I'd put them at the top probably above denver. KC too especially at home as we've seen.

Every single game from now on is a threat.
Every SB winning year, those excellent Patriots teams lost regular season games.
I am gobsmacked that folks are saying , "We just won HFA yesterday"
Not so. There are games to be played. Even "Lights Out GOAT" has a stinker game.
Our record 9 games in, despite being a deservedly optimistic indicator, guarantees absolutely NOTHING.

Big wins, like big losses, lead to the crazy people making crazy claims.

One irrelevant win against an injury ravaged team leads to crazy people making crazy claims.

1. Denver Broncos
2. Pittsburgh Steelers (the additions of Keisel and Harrison have sparked their D)
3. Kansas City Chiefs
4. Indianapolis Colts
5. Miami Dolphins/Buffalo Bills (both are playing at a high level on D)
7. Cincinnati Bengals
