Winning is winning if you can't be happy about 5-2 then **** cheer for another team that's not to say Pats have flaws, but 2 home games before the bye and then the home stretch good win tonight.

As much as i want to blame Patricia for whatever problems the Pats have had in certain games... I am having a hard time convincing myself that he is really the lead guy to blame. This is Belichick's defense, right?

Edit: I am not overly concerned though. Its a Thursday night game against a divisional opponent. no key players got hurt. and most importantly... We won

Tough game, good win. Played the percentages and it worked out, which is why they are the percentages. BB has been doing this his entire time here - I too lament that we don't take our new secondary toys and be more aggressive, and it looked like when we were we started stopping the Jets. But BB will always play the percentages, there's a reason BBDB starts with BB.

IMHO the problems with the run D in this game can be placed squarely on the shoulders of Rob Ninkovich and Chandler Jones not setting and maintaining the edge. Most of the big runs were inside runs that were stuffed then bounced to the outside where they'd lost contain. This has been a problem all year in my opinion.

The O-Line didn't play great, but then again they were facing one of the better D-Lines in the league so that wasn't unexpected. Too many dropped passes which would have changed the complexion of the game. Just win baby.

Man I'm not sure what to think of this game. I'll take the win as ugly as it was but this was really ****ing ugly. This defense needs a lot a work. Hopefully the extra time until the Bears will give them time to remember how to stop the run and tackle.

The biggest problem that I saw tonight was that we lost the battle at the line on both sides of the ball. Not much you can do if you can't win the big on big battle. More concerning on D, I think- we couldn't shed blocks, and we were consistently allowing Ivory to get to the 2nd level where he could cause damage in the open field.

A lot of shoddy technique, and sloppy tackling, and a lot of that tends to be mental. I think that's more the effect of the short turnaround week than anything else.

Yes.

The Pats averaged 4.3 yards per run. They had success on the ground. They then went one dimensional. The pass-run ratio was 37-15.

Do YOU want to keep the Pats D (which just lost its QB Mayo) on the
field for 40 of the 60 minutes? Poor game planning.

They played down to the Jets tonight (just like they did with the Raiders). and both times they almost got burned.

A balanced attack keeps an opposing defense guessing - - and your own defense from having to spend 40 of the 60 minutes on the field.
I think the ridley injury didnt give enough time for them to trust gray and vereen run the ball more. Not sure about bolden. I was surprised how successful they were throwing the ball with jets dropping 8 in coverage. Thankfully Rex has a bad seconday and he didnt have enough courage to get after our oline. I think Rex missed a point there when his coverage schemes were not working.

well I have to give them some credit, four days to prepare after losing two top players, it isn't a recipe for good things. What I didn't like was the terrible tackling , many times they had the RB for losses or short gains only to tackle the body and not the legs resulting in long runs. I don't like that WR's for the jets found themselves wide open.

But I think they will be tougher for this one and also fix the mistakes, I didn't have too much problem with the offense except there is no need to waste 1st down plays trying to go for the big kill and missing. But they did move the ball on most occasions.

Refs ugh, they really wanted the jets on this one, I don't normally complain about officiating but this is getting bad and I think it is so inconsistent the nfl has to do something about it.

Gotta give the oline some credit...kept brady upright for the most part and did a decent job picking up some blitzes in second half....maybe degugliemo isn't the jackhole the local media made him out to bs...I don't think they planned to run that much tonight

Tonight looked to me like a team that just couldn't take the 1 and 5 Jets seriously. However, Brady pulled it out.

....Some years down the road (God postpone the day), I am really, really going to miss watching him do this type of magic. I'm not sure if we really appreciate what we are watching.

Brady was 54% throwing against a "bad secondary" which was dropping 8 into coverage.

Good idea to run the ball more then?????

I was trying to be the drunkest person here, but clearly I failed, since some here are saying this was a good win, so others must be far far more drunk than me. It was nice to win, but drunk or sober, it wasn't a good win.

The D was so weak it was pathetic. How many times did we see Chris freaking Ivory and C J freaking 2 K run it up the gut f0r 8 or more yards after breaking three pathetic attempts at a tackle?

The Jets have a bad if not awful QB and a bad if not awful coaching staff that both have no idea how to win tough games. It was a two point win, which only happened since a bad coaching staff decided to put a two point play on Geno freaking Smith's shoulders when their O had been able to run at will, and left itself with no time and no time outs so they were stuck with trying to make a difficult field goal that got blocked.

I'd say 2 out of 3 NFL teams would have beat this team tonight. The fire that was lit under the team's ass after the KC game seems to now be nothing more than a match that someone's pissed on.

Just saw the Amendola TD replay again. Man, the guy did two 360s in that route — one in the beginning, and one at the very end.. And he reached back against his own bodily momentum to snag the ball.

Agreed, I think the O-line played better than most expected tonight. Hopefully, after 10 days of rest, Stork and Connolly will be back for the next game against the bears.

I agree but dont think they trusted their backs to do much.Maybe the weather played into it too. They put the game on brady's hands and who knows how many times brady changed plays.

Bad run defense and suspect offense? No worries because looking at this makes it all worth while.

Reminded me of a certain play from a fairly recent Super Bowl. But we won't go there now. ...

funny you should say that, i was actually going to say he probably would have caught that pass in the s bowll, but i did not want to bring up bad memories. that being said, wes had multiple key drops in his tenure with the Pats, but he was still a great player and i would much rather see him here than with Peyton "cant win a big game" Manning

There are no BAD wins in anything. Just my opinion.

I am happy with the win. I wonder if anything things the game being this close and not blowing the Jets out means anything about our season. Gresh was going off on it in 98.5.

Certain I would prefer a blowout win but I for one don't think this means anything about this team one way or the other.
