The Jets have one of the best run defenses in the NFL and the Pats nearly put up 30 on them almost exlusively through the air. And yet you think they should have run more?
Geno threw a pick six in the final minute. To the tune of 31-17? I don't know if I'd call that escaping with a win.
Tonight's game though....

Dobson must really suck. Last year's draft of Dobson, Collins, Harmon, Boyce et al looks pretty abysmal as of right now.

That is a strategy that McDaniels seems to love - - abandon the run. It does not work. Look at what happens when they do that - - Miami game, Oakland game, KC game and NYJ game. And don't anyone try the "well that's what teams do when they are trying to come from behind in a game" because in 3 of 4 of those games they were ahead at the half.
Very true. I don't understand the abandoning of the run tonight. Gray looked fined during the few runs he had. And Vereen obviously had a great night. But I was just really applauding the team for winning the game with only 19 minutes or so of TOP rather than applaud the gameplan and the lack of the run game.
Yes.
The Pats averaged 4.3 yards per run. They had success on the ground. They then went one dimensional. The pass-run ratio was 37-15.
Do YOU want to keep the Pats D (which just lost its QB Mayo) on the
field for 40 of the 60 minutes? Poor game planning.
They played down to the Jets tonight (just like they did with the Raiders). and both times they almost got burned.
A balanced attack keeps an opposing defense guessing - - and your own defense from having to spend 40 of the 60 minutes on the field.
