Increedible game! It was great to see fire from our players, fire that was surely missing untill now.

I'm so glad they used our strengths too. Ridley running, 2TE sets, man-to-man for Revis against Green. The defense completely stopped Bernard and all RBs, too! Huge props for Chris Jones(as most of the D-line), he was fantastic. Finally they didn't need nor tryied to make a mirabolant scheme, back to basica led to great coaching.

Brady gets his own paragraph. He wasn't perfect, as he missed on some throws, bur heck it. If he plays like that for the rest of the season, we are absolutely on the Hunt for #4. Has been a while since I've seen "F U Brady"

I'm not even gonna bother with the negatives today. That is the kind of game that can change things completely around. Let this game be the fundation for the rest of the season

What disappoints me about this thread is that there isn't one positive comment about McDaniels and the offensive game plan that I've seen. To my mind it was the best thing about the performance: wide open receivers (on deep balls too) lots of space on the run game and great draw plays. In fact, if it wasn't for the deep ball misses, missed blocks (Gronk x 2) and drops (sorry Gronk), that would have been an even more dominant offensive performance against one of the best defenses out there.

McDaniels, the interior OL and the secondary were outstanding today. That was a great win but Deus is right, it was far from perfect.
Agreed. The playcalling was really good. Really tried to put pressure on the linebackers by running at them and passing behind them. Worked very well. Really have to give credit to McDaniels for this plan. It worked out really well.

I liked that we did more simpler things. We didn't go with the end around screens and stuff like that. Things that have been drive killers for us. We mostly did kind of basic stuff but we did it damn well. Just like we should do. Perfect the basic stuff first, then move to more special stuff.

I've said before that I think Ridley is gone in the next season because the coaches doesn't trust him(I really like him). But I'm starting to reevaluate that. Through 5 games Ridley has had 19 or more carries 3 times. That's a lot. I love the smathmouth football with Ridley and Develin.

1. I loved the attitude and the intensity. The team was obviously pissed off and didn't want to take hostages. Many of the penalties were bogus, but I didn't mind a few penalties due to over-aggressive play - in some ways, better than being passive and getting pushed around. I believe that the more physical and aggressive team generally wins. If the Pats can channel this level of aggression and keep cleaning up the fundamentals, they should be ok.

This.

See: 2012 Ravens and 2013 Seahawks.

The offense looks very comfortable in run the ball/playaction pass mode. Cincy is one of the worst run defenses in the league in YPC, so this was a favorable matchup. The offense may continue to struggle if the running game is shut down, although a friskier Gronk and a present Wright are an enormous help. A healthy Gronk, by himself, turns the offense from average to very good. I hope he can continue to get better over the course of the year. I still cringe on every seam route though--thought Nelson had a chance to do some damage on the TD, but missed him.

Brady's smirk is too much, he's literally bursting wanting to point around the room and scream 'aaaaaaaaaaaahhhhhhhh'

"I fooled you, and you, and you!"

This performance reminded me of the 2007 Charger game in week 2. Very inspired and emotional.
Loved BB's press conference....pissed off with the stupid questions.

Now it is time to reprise the "FU" tour (except for that last bit, do that different).

Football sure is a lot easier when the OL protects, guys get open, and there's holes in the run game. Isn't it?

STATEMENT GAME!

Patriots are not only off the respirator, they are alive and kicking!

Everybody doubted us for this game. Only the Pats believed in themselves and brought us a complete team win over the Bengals.

I'm a believer. This team CAN beat the good teams in the league. Now we just need to build up more consistency and play just like we played last night from here on out.

Brady rushing for a couple plays early really lifted the team. He really stuck his nose in and made some tough plays.

Obviously the line was night and day from the first four weeks. Like most, pretty surprised to see Wendell, our undersized center, playing at RG -- and that was the best the line looked all year. The Pats struggled with big tall tackles playing inside - Fleming, Cannon, Devey. This system seems to operate better with shorter, stouter, more agile players inside. This was a three-center OL, with Connolly, Stork, Wendell, all principally centers. They communicated well, they held their blocks. Compare the sizes:
Connolly - 6-3.5 311
Stork - 6-3.7 315
Wendell - 6-2.3 292

Fleming - 6-4.7 323
Cannon - 6-5.0 358
Devey - 6-6.5 317

Nice to see Tim Wright so successful. Still he was on the field only about half as much as Hoomanawanui - because the Patriots really committed to the run. 220 rush yards is a good formula for success - and it wasn't all fourth quarter garbage yards. A mobile interior OL and a straight-ahead rushing attack is what this team has needed.

Hope the injury to Easley isn't serious. The defensive line is now getting banged up, with Easley out in the second half, Chandler Jones injured, and Siliga on interim DL.

Still really disappointed in the penalty situation. 12 for the Pats to 4 for Cincinnati was ridiculous. The national commentators were a bit surprised. This ref show is not what we are paying for. How can the NFL get the message? The worst is the downfield "holding" or "interference" - does the NFL want to institute a five-yard bubble around all receivers? Give the refs a maximum number, like challenges? Ugly game for the officials.

An unpredictable team.

Vince Wilfork was spectacular last night. Whereever he was, Bengal bodies were moving in reverse.

It's too bad the Lions kicker didn't choke the game away yesterday or else the Pats could of had sole possession of the AFC East, these next 2 games are big for divisional placement.

Stevan Ridley has not fumbled since the Denver game last season when he was inactive the week after and went to work with Kevin Faulk. That is a span of 11 games and 150 touches (146 carries, 4 catches). More importantly, I no longer hold my breath when he has the football.

Hopefully he doesn't get benched for an extended amount of time when he inevitably fumbles again, because EVERY RB fumbles at one point. Great game by the Riddler last night.

Can they please make the switch to Dobson over LaFell or at least make the snaps a tad more closer? LaFell was in 77 of the 84, Dobson 11.

LaFell 1 Rec- 20 yards
Dobson 1 Rec- 16 yards

I feel like Dobson would have hauled in that TD that LaFell dropped and would have caught that ball that LaFell just gave up on or at the very least gave more effort on that play.

Didn't post last night, too busy listening to the media eating crow. They are profession turd stirrers and are the happiest when things are going bad, but subdued after the big victory and all their BS was proven wrong.

Also the ref last night sounded like Elmer Fudd. What a bunch of awful calls. I hope that crew gets downgraded after the way they lost control of the game last night. The NFL should be embarrassed having that crew on a nationally televised game.

Didn't get to see the game but looking at the box score pats did well. Hopefully this is sustainable to the bills game.

Great win.

It was great to see McD finally decide to commit to the run. Even when it was stopped for little to no gain, where before we would abandon it, we really committed and kept running. It just opened up everything for Brady, made it easier for our OL, and created space in the middle. McD, why the hell did it take for the beatdown in KC for this to happen?

On defense, FINALLY we see our CBs play tight, bump and run at the LOS. And boom, they delivered! Even if Dennard was flagged several times (two were BS), I'd rather see them play physical than play off the LOS like when Dennard got burned for that TD when he was playing off.

It wasn't perfect, Collins got burned a good amount which would have resulted in at least 3 TDs had the Bengals executed, but playing aggressive forces the issue and makes offense have to really execute at a high level.

There were great all around performances, but the these two coaching moves is what I'm really happy about.

And to not hear about "we have no weapons" garbage for this week is a bonus.

OT, but deserving of a shout out, IMO. Congrats to Brian Hoyer on his record setting comeback. The guy's got a QB rating of 97.7 and has shut down all the "Manziel" talk for the moment.

Having a serviceable OL makes a world of difference. It opens everything up.

....and what is the common result to those 3 games where they feed him the ball at least 19 times?

McDaniels should not pull another Miami 2013 or Miami 2014 prank again on the Patriots. The solution is there for all to see. Hopefully, he understands that now.
