Greg Cosell on Brady........

If it was another 5 yards deeper, that's a TD, at the very least a reception. But it's hard to fault Brady. He threw that from the Pats 12 yard line and it landed on the Giants 20 yard line.

Moss was a freak. Double teamed, CB playing 10 yards off and S playing over the top 30 yards off but he still ran by both of them.

And he didn't reach or fight AT ALL for that ball or at least two earlier passes & that cost us the game. Fast but mentally WEAK!

I think he thought there was no way the DB was going to get to that pass. That DB made a great play, timed his jump perfectly because he was at least two steps behind Moss. I can't fault Moss for that.

It was an underthrow. That is the problem with debating this. If someone can't acknowledge this obvious truth, I don't know how anything they say is in any way credible.

Because hw was wide open, with a defender on either side? because Brady gave the defenders a chance to get a hand on it, yet they have 4 hands between them and didn't touch it. Because you know neither of those defenders would have intercepted a longer throw?

I honestly have no idea what you are attempting to say here. Did Edelman have to slow down for the ball? Do you claim Brady has not lost arm strength? Are you saying he is just as strong throwing the ball at 37 as he was at 27? The position you guys are attempting to defend defies the significant majority of NFL history and logic. Wishing for a guy to not age does not prevent it from happening.

I think it has a lot more to with him being 37 and not being the most naturally gifted guy to begin with. Brett Favre was a far more naturally gifted guy (not saying better QB) to begin with, and by the time he was Brady's age he was with the Jets and his drop in skills was obvious. Why do people continue to think this can't possibly be the case with Brady?

Last year was his worst year in a while and had no gronk and a bunch of castoffs at WR. He still took his team to the AFCCG - so saying he is in decline after 1 poor game may not be accurate. Let's give it a month or two.;)

He slowed down, two defenders took themselves out of the play and he made the catch uncontested.

Honest question: Strictly watching him throw last season, did you think he looked like the same guy throwing the ball? I know last year there was talk of a hand injury affecting him, but by that discussion simply taking place, there was an acknowledgement that his throwing of the football was not up to par. Yes, it was only one game, but the limitations from last year still seemed present to me.

Why did he slow down?

He caughrt the ball between two defenders who overran the play.

You seem to think being a QB is about throwing lasers 70 yards. It's about putting the ball where your receiver can catch it and the other, or other 2, can't.

Yes it is, but it's also about leading a guy who's wide open by three yards, and not making him slow down.

He might be in decline a little bit...his mechanics did not look good on sunday or the afccg. But the amount of his decline may be a bit exaggerated,

If he was wide open by three yards, how did he catch that ball and have the two defenders wiz by him? wouldn't he be throwing right to the defense?

Very true. It could be exaggerated, but to say it's not happening seems very naive to me. There is a reason we drafted a QB in the 2nd round.

He was open by 3 yards when he released the ball. He was covered by the time it got there because he had to slow down for it. That is my point.

Yeah, the #2 was in the last year of his contract. ;)

So, edelman was nine feet ahead of two defenders, one of whom was coming at an angle from the right, so he could definitely see the ball. Edelman stopped, turned around, ran back 9 ft. and pushed that guy away from the ball, the one that was nine feet behind him looking towards the ball. hmmm

Talk to me in November when the offensive line has time to jell, Gronk is gronk, Dobson is healthy and Lafell has some experience in a new system.

To be fair to Brady - how many legitimate deep threats or outside-the-lines guys has he had over the past 5 years? 1?
Dobson for half a season last year.

Doubt it. They could have signed a proven cheap vet if that was the case.
Proven AND Cheap does NOT =

Look at what $M any competent vet signed for versus a DRAFtED rookie, you are forgetting the old axiom....

It's better to remain silent and let some think you are stupid than open your mouth and prove it to everyone
