I think odds are in the low single digits though. One can hope. It's pre-season where fantasies abound!
The biggest problem is there are two other QBs in Washington and Tampa that have actually played in a regular season game. I would imagine they are more desirable than Mallett.

Not playing is better for your trade value than playing badly.

I do not think Glennon played badly at all as a rookie, and Cousins play was outstanding in a few games, although he did have some bad ones as well.

Glennon has already been dubbed the quarterback of the future, I don't think he counts as available.

It is my understanding that Lovie is not that high on Glennon. He has been rumored in trade conversations as recently as 6/12.

"We talked about Mike. I wasn't going to let him bully me into taking his [N.C. State] Wolfpack quarterback," Licht joked.

But here's something Licht is serious about apparently in regards to Keim.

"He," Licht said, "is not getting [Glennon]."

Buccaneers confident in Mike Glennon as QB of the future
byLarryHartstein| CBSSports.com
Buccaneersbrass is sold onMike Glennonas the team's quarterback of the future, even if Josh McCown starts in 2014, reports theTampa Tribune.

"The three things — and [coach Lovie [Smith] and I were in complete agreement on this — are toughness, intelligence and accuracy," general manager Jason Licht said on Sirius XM NFL Radio. "And then arm strength is a distant fourth.

“Mike showed during this process that he has those three things and he scored very high on those three things. Also, he’s an unassuming type of guy but guys around the building really look up to him and really follow him. So that’s what it came down to."

Glennon threw 19 touchdown passes and nine interceptions as a rookie.

Obviously you can't take things a coach says after an unofficial trade-deadline (the draft) passes as 100% fact, but the trade rumors seem mostly media driven and outside of Tampa driven, despite getting McCown, Tampa appears to be standing behind him once he's had time to learn.

On a different note, the below NESN article contained a nice run-down of some players, especially the younger fellas. I don't think anything was previously unreported.

Amongst other points, it mentioned the following:
  • Collins looks more like a LB with his newly added bulk
  • Others players to visibly add mass included: Duron Harmon, Logan Ryan, Josh Boyce, and Thompkins
  • Edelman was sharp as ever
  • Stork had mental struggles (nothing that hasn't been previously reported)
It is always difficult to glean much from OTA's, but at least our faithful reporters can note observable aspects such as players in better shape. Of course, we all know how Crable added bulk and what that got us.

It's encouraging to hear that they thought Edelman was the MVP because his name was basically unspoken for the last month, the fact that he's playing well enough he doesn't even get mentioned in any conversation is a good thing.

Means hes currently performing as expected, at or above the level he did last season.
