I hope we didn't just draft the Ras-I of the defensive line.

Obviously both dealt with injuries.

But Ras-I was a big reach. Easley has loads of talent. That makes a pretty significant difference between the two IMO.

For those of you still upset about Easely, the reaction in seattle was visible dejection after the pats took Easely.

Yep, for all that rumors circulate about "X team had him rated as..." this is the rare case where we actually know. There was a live video feed of the Seahawks war room, and it was all routine until the moment Easley's name was called. There was a clear reaction, everybody got glum, and then they picked up the phones to start trading.

So can we put the "reach" talk to bed? Risky pick based on health, yes. "Reach" who would have been available later, no.

Regarding equating Seattle's interest in Easley vs Polian's interest in Maroney.... Polian's drafts the last few years up to his exit from the Colts were dreadful...just saying.

The defending SB champs opinions carry more weight with me.

I think Reiss suggests that the 49ers spent a fair bit of time with him too which makes sense with justin Smith getting older.

Now we need to go get Jace Amaro. A guy that works with my brother also works as a scout and has phone interviewed Amaro. He said that this guy is not only a premier TE talent but he also "gets it". By that he means that he is a down to earth guy that understands hard work produces results and he is really intelligent. I would love for them to draft him.

LINEMEN!!! We still need linemen on both sides of the ball, not another freakin' WR. I want to start day two with the best center or guard available ... Another stud defensive tackle would be fine as well.
AYE, a center for sure, to many times wendell did an impression of a stature or a revolving door. And another pass rusher to spell ninko and jones

Center and tight end next, please, and maybe a trade to get a guy like McCullers.

Easley was a fantastic pick, he is exactly what this team needs, he is a player who can line up at LDE in a base 4-3, RDE in a base 3-4, and rush from the inside in a sub package. He is Red Bryant with pass rush ability.

The best part of the draft was Denver taking Bradley Roby, that was a terrible pick in my opinion.

I'm feeling a lot better about the Easley pick after reading that Seattle wanted him, and traded out of 32 because after he went they lost 'their guy'.

Now we have to draft WR Abrredaris. The guy ate Roby alive. :D

Many considered Dowling a top 15 guy before his injury-plagued senior year. I've seen Easley mentioned as a top 10 guy had he not gotten injured, so both guys were available approximately 20 picks later due to their injuries. Seems pretty comparable to me.

I stand corrected B6, (i said BB wouldn't take AD, he'd take Nix) BB probably would have taken Donald, after all it looks like he took the closest thiing left to Donald in Esley.

Not the same thing at all. Downing was never considered a talent like easely. Plus easely played against tougher SEC competition, while dowling played in a weak ACC.

PFW projected Dowling as a 3rd to 4th round pick. I didn't see any reports that had him going anywhere near 33. IMO he would have been there much later in the draft and there were better CBs than Dowling that could have been had at that spot.

Easley has played at a higher level, and has quite a bit more upside than Dowling did. JMO.

Going into his senior year Kiper had Dowling #5 on his big board. It really doesn't mean anything and has no bearing on Easley, but it did happen.

aliexpress.com already has Johnny Football Browns jerseys available, that's briliant

For TEs, I like Niklas and Fiedorowicz. Ideally, with as few picks as they have available (compared to their standard smorgasbord), I'd like to see it just all be linemen. If Brady can't be protected better and if we can't get after the QB better, that elusive fourth Super Bowl ring will stay just as elusive.
