My thinking is when he did not sign last season and they went on to draft Josh Boyce that ticket was stamped. If they signed Sanders that would put him in front of Boyce as the SE-WR in the three wide sets, right now, they can use Edelman, or Amendola in that role until Boyce is ready to take over.

It is a good signing for Denver; he is a solid player who will complement Thomas x2 and Welker well as an outside intermediate player who can stretch the field.

Every team was scared of his injury (1 screw in each feet).

Probably, a "prove-it" deal...

Denver is kinda like the Yankees of old, "buy your way to the big show"..

Count me as relieved. I live in Pittsburgh and am underwhelmed with Sanders. I have always felt that way.

They may have been interested but the Broncos are willing to offer significantly more money then anyone else to all of these players as long as they can get out of the deals after two years - wouldn't surprise me if that's the case here.

I didn't want him anyway and Denver getting him doesn't bother me. I've seen that guy **** up so often for the Steelers it isn't even funny. On top of that, he has foot issues.

I don't know about that, I think Decker has proven to be much better than Sanders thus far.

I think it was good signing but it significant in terms of drop off from Decker, they are very different players, and Decker was an excellent red zone threat. I expect Denver to draft Kelvin Benjamin at #31 in the draft.

They are going all-in, and it's not going to be a problem for them this year. Next year when they need to sign Demaryius Thomas, Julius Thomas, and Von Miller, who all want to be paid more than outside free agents like Talib, Ware, etc., then it could get sticky.

Sanders is a decent reciever, but Edelman is a good bit better. Sanders doesn't bring anything to the table Edelman can't do. Edelman can return punts (like a boss) too. Sander's feet might be just as risky as Amendola's everything.

Edit: Lafell would make more sense than Sanders at this point. Could compete with Tompkins. I like Tompkins skills more, but Lafell has consistently produced for a low level receiver.

Yawn...not impressed. Didn't want Sanders last year, and he sure as hell didn't do anything last year to make me think I was wrong (in a contract year). The guy has screws in both feet. He will always have foot problems. Congrats Denver!

It'll be interesting to see his deal and JE's deal side-by-side. I know Sanders wanted 5/31 type money, even with his foot problems.

Of the two, I prefer Edelman with this team - he's got Brady's trust, and he earned it.

Sanders is no slouch, though. Good signing if they didn't ridiculously overpay.

I like Sanders and believe him to be a good player but our WR corp is flush with smaller, shifty receivers. It's outside the hashmarks where New England needs to invest a little capital.

Looks like Elway is just throwing crap against the wall at this point and praying something sticks before the forehead retires. If Peyton was 10 years younger I highly doubt they make this signing, because I don't see it as making a lot of sense. This is just collecting bodies and hoping for a last ditch miracle.

Sanders is meh' "threat" as a vertical deep guy and it is sort of mitigated by noodle arm, not that he was even impressive as it getting the ball for Ben.
