That was pass interference

Play straight out of the Ravens playbook.

Toss it up for the 4.3 speed guy, get a cheap flag.

Yeah I would feel bad for the browns if that hasn't been called against the pats about 5000 times.

and btw the commentators wasn't biased they was the worst pair to ever call a game...two clueless clowns

We had another terrible call go in our favour today, that intentional grounding on Campbell. He was half a mile outside the tackle box.

And there were some terrible calls going the other way too. How about that fumble right at the beginning?

It was a terrible ref job, one that is becoming the norm in the NFL.

This I agree with. Jordan Campbell (sic) had a good game.

If those roles had been reversed and that was Talib, this forum would be up in arms at that call. That was six of one, half a dozen of 'tother. It was actually really good coverage by McFadden who was one of my major draft bickies last year.

I can't disagree more with this.

The yank prevented a near certain TD.

If that was PI then their should be a flag every single passing play in the NFL. One lucky team

Based on every comment you make, are you a concern troll or just on the wrong site. This is a Pats site FYI

From what I remember seeing, Campbell's pass landed past the LOS marker. Seemed like a blatant bad call at the time. Need to wait for the vid to be certain though.

If you need an entire thread to convince yourself that it's PI, then it's probably not PI.

Good example of why we need two pass interference penalties. That was definitely interference, he was virtually frisking him for about 7 yards, slowing him a bit, and alternately holding his arm. However, you want a gift on the one yard line for that? Might as well not bother trying to cover.

10-15 yards, half the distance to the goal line etc.for less flagrant offenses? Who wouldn't see that as fair? It's like if judges either had to find you innocent, or give you the death penalty, no matter the crime.

I KNOW it was a PI.

That's why I posted, because the announcer was adamant. He doesn't know the basic rules of football. He screwed it up so many times today, like the receiver being hit when the QB is outside the tackle, or he doesn't even mention how the ball didn't land beyond the line of scrimmage (it was 2 yards short).

Being clearly beat in the end zone is good coverage?

NFL does not call pass interference or illegal contact with anything resembling consistency these days.

I would not have thrown the flag if I was the ref.

Regardless, who really believes New England was not going to score a TD on that drive?

The reality is the flag was the reason the Browns actually had time to attempt a comeback.

You mean like when Talib grabbed Demarius Thomas briefly, let him go on a post, then picked off Peyton to essentially end the game, only to get called for the holding?

The guy DID tug Boyce, and I think Boyce makes the catch without that. Close call, but really, without that grab, it's a TD.

Btw, today was Boyce's coming out party - the kid can play.

I have little hope for a SB this year with all the injuries (I'll cheer and watch and hope for the best, but really, it is insane how many key pieces they've lost), but I'm excited to see this team next year, certainly.

All three of the kids can play.

I am NOT, NEVER, EVER, EVER, giving up on the Pats this year, however. This team, this year, has more character than any team I can remember.

Going by the textbook definition it WAS pass interference, BUT it was very minimal and probably shouldn't have been called at that stage of the game because it decided the game. I think most officials don't call that.

However, that being said we got screwed by lousy officiating the whole game (starting in the first quarter with that fumble that was blown dead) so as far as I'm concerned its even.

Yep - I know absolutely nothing about football.

Should the refs call illegal contact whenever a CB touches a receiver past the 5 yards from scrimmage? That's how the rule is written, but it's not called, because if the contact doesn't impede the receiver then it shouldn't be a penalty.

I wanted the Pats to win today against the Browns - but that wasn't PI. There was contact, but there was no interference.

Clearly you don't understand the difference between people making a statement (as the OP did) and "trying to convince yourself that it was PI".

That was a CLEAR PI call. You may not like it, but that doesn't change the fact that it was.

Ty Law and Troy Brown each said it was a bad call. And I agree. I'm not exactly going to lose any sleep over benefitting from a bad call, but I'm am also not going to pretend it wasn't.

of course it as PI

these announcers know jack *****

they also said the hit on Gronk was a clean tackle

MORONS!

Clear in the eyes of Pats fans, sure. If it was called in favor of the Ravens, I'd probably be in the same boat as you all. That's what happens to us fans.

But it wasn't PI lol.
