And the donkeys lose!

And how much time did those 52 carries eat up? How critical were the final few carries after the penalty in OT? The Jets destroyed the middle of the Pats D Line and anyone who can't see that the run defense will likely be a problem from this point forward hasn't been watching the same game I've been watching. I like the two rookies, but they are being asked to do a lot more than they ideally would in their young careers.

You guys and your micro view of everything. Stats don't *****ing matter. You have to consider the situation. Our beloved BB talks about it all the time. The Jets did exactly what they were supposed to do on the ground and in the air. They played the better game and, bogus penalty or not, they won as a result.

Glass is half empty to some, full for others. Nothing wrong with that. Jets ate up a lot of time, and we played a bad game, but it still came down to a BS call in OT for the Jets to win. Going forward, things need to be corrected, but let's see what we got when Kelly and Talib come back.

Just like last year, they dominate against the bad teams and get into significant holes in the first half against good teams that they cannot dig themselves out of. One game isn't exactly a great sample size, but it seems like their MO.

And their defense is atrocious. They are 30th in total defense, 27th in points allowed, 32nd in pass defense, and tied for 26th with four other teams in passing TDs allowed (only two teams are worse in Buffalo and Jacksonville).

Yes, it deserves a thread.

Bye bye undefeated season.... ;)

Reality check has finally brought the donkeys back to earth. Your easy schedule has finally caught up to you. Thank you Colts!

A bitter-sweet ending to this Sunday.

Why a spoiler as a title of thread? I was going to enjoy watching this game later as for us it's started at 2.30 AM. Now there will be no fun

On 52 carries.

Just a little context. It's not like the Jets came out and were hitting holes for big runs. They had 4 runs over 8 yards. 2 of them were Geno Smith taking off for 12 and 14 yards, the other 2 were Ivory for 10 and 17 yards.

Wouldn't it be better to give out some big runs and many small runs? That means we're getting some stops. What happen at the jets game is a consistent inability to push the O-line. The jets 3rd down stats was ridiculous.

This Colts team is easy to root for, which is something I didn't think I'd ever say at least not while Brady was still playing. Getting Polian, Dungy, and Manning out of there and revamping their whole defense has made them fun to watch.

I have problems rooting for them because of their d-bag owner. I rooted for them last year because of Pagano, but this year I just think of the NFL's version of Spaulding Smails and want them to lose every game except for the game last night.

Yeah Irsay is a clown. I was saying last night that at the owners meetings I envision him off at a table on the side with crayons and a coloring book.

LOL! I think they put him at the kid's table with Mike Brown of the Bengals.

Try this.
That patchwork defense held the Jets to 20 points.
That's missing Kelly, Wilfork, Mayo and Talib. Brady's pick 6 and the last FG were not on the D. The concern should be with the awful play of the offense which had opportunity after opportunity to score and fell apart consistently.

The NY POST claims it was a huge breakout game for Chris Ivory...3.1 yards a carry...HUGE!!....anybody that doesn't see a tremendous letdown next week against Cincy in Cincy just doesn't know football...Ryan sold out to win THIS game ..and ended up looking like he always does.."WTF just happened?..Dur.."...he used all the cards in his deck to amp his team up...and they win on a hotly contested call that GAVE them the game. Ryan is going to rampo them up again for Cincy??? HOW???? He's an idiot, has always BEEN an idiot and while betting on the NFL may be idiotic at times, if you are ever going to take the plunge, do it this week with Cincy. They are going to blitz Tiny Ears back to the stone age.
On a thread that's about the Broncos losing to the Colts:

you reference a NY tabloid article and then go off on a tangent about the Jets head coach.

Funny stuff there funny man. Obsessed much? :)

I don't know about anybody else...but even though I thought that 16-0 banner was weak when it first went up (think Colts, "AFC Finalists")....it's really grown on me over the last few years and now I'm damn proud of it...

So freaking HARD to go 16-0....that's an accomplishment that is worthy of respect no matter how that season ended. With all due respect to the Chiefs I do not believe we will see another 16-0 team in our lifetime.

It's just an annoying reminder that we came up short, but let's be honest its a hell of an accomplishment and I feel the same way, I don't want anyone else to repeat it. Even though we didn't close it out, the 07 Patriots are still the only team to go 16-0 in the regular season, and the only team to go 18-0 in one season. Would be nice if it wasn't the friggin Dolphins combined with a New York team holding the loss over our heads, but it is what it is.

Awesome to see the Donkeys lose - almost made up for the afternoon atrocity...

As for the Colts, they lost more than they won last night. Reggie Wayne, the center Satele, Darius Butler, Josh Gordy and LB Harvey all went down.

Satele looked bad, Wayne might be done, and Butler and Gordy had leg issues, which is never good for that position.

This was the only redeeming thing about yesterday. Maybe the Manning crap will calm down now that he isn't going to have his perfect season. Manning face (complete with huge mouthpiece that he doesn't remove - this bears mentioning again - when Manning loses he doesn't remove his helmet on the field - it's like he has to wear a shield or keep his head from exploding) as all the assistants, security and employees of the Colts chase him from the field trying to hug him. LOL.

Experienced fans know that the playoff like atmosphere of that game yielded an expected playoff like loss from Peyton Manning.

Personally I would have enjoyed watching the undefeated pressure mounting on Denver taking its toll mentally exhausting the team by January

Doesn't make me feel any better about the pats unfortunately

I'm glad that this finally put the Broncos in perspective. They're still the best team in the NFL, IMO, simply because all but a few teams lack the offense to beat them. But their defense just isn't very good. They'll have weeks where everything clicks and they look unbeatable, but those weeks will be less and less frequent as the season wears on. Manning is going to win the MVP and they're probably going to be within striking distance of the all-time scoring record, but hopefully this will kill the notion that they re-invented the game of football over in Denver.

I do think that the Pats can stand a good chance against them, provided that Collins becomes comfortable covering tight ends in that time, Talib is healthy, and the Pats have the good sense not to try to put Arrington on Welker in man coverage. I'm not optimistic, but it's doable. A healthy Talib can down out either one of the Thomases, but I cringe to think about what Welker's going to do to this D.

It's the second game Jets won to a personal foul, too. So sad.

It's true - I was thinking during the game, "Wow, he's acting like he does during the playoffs." No longer a machine but a thinking (too much), letting it get to him kind of guy. I'm still glad they lost one week 7 and we don't have to hear about their undefeated season any more. Even when the Pats were doing it in 2007, I refused to believe the hype until about week 15. Just too many things can happen any given week.

Um, did you forget that the Patriots are starting 2 jags at DT, missing their pro bowl/all pro starting MLB, and possibly the best CB in the league?

************ man

What are you talking about "************" for?

If you think that was acceptable Patriot football, then that's your mistake. They got their asses completely handed to them in many ways.

We haven't made excuses before, so I'm not sure why you suddenly think it's acceptable now?

They didn't look anywhere close as bad last week vs New Orleans with BOTH Mayo and Talib out in the game. What is the difference? Nothing changed aside from one team being very good offensively and the other having a rookie QB and zero weapons.
