REPORT: Brady Suffers Knee Sprain, MRI Negative
By: Ian Logue

Good news following Wednesday's injury scare to Patriots quarterback Tom Brady, after Adam Schefter of ESPN reported that the knee injury he suffered isn't serious....

My brother is still going to be mad. He is going to the preseason game on Friday.

Goddamnit.

Deus said this would happen.
And now look what's happened.
What am I going to do now? Huh? Read a book?

First of all, a "knee sprain" is not so easily dismissed even if nothing major is torn. Secondly, I'll be at the game as well and it wouldn't bother me one iota if Brady never sees another preseason snap the rest of his career.

Knee sprain? That's the definitive diagnosis?

Not bad obviously but if that's the case a knee sprain is no walk in the park. Swelling, discomfort, pain, etc. Guess it depends on the severity of the sprain though. Either way, nothing super serious. Good news. Thank GOD! Please no more scares like this. So far we've gone through training camp unscathed....need that to continue.

For all you that think you can score a draft pick and don't really need a backup QB, I hope this wakes you up.:mad:

I was diagnosed (after x-rays) with a knee sprain a few years ago, and it took me at least 4-5 weeks to be able to put full weight on it. And to boot, after all this time, I still sense some pain there from time to time.

But I'm sure knee sprains come in all sizes. Let's hope this is the short-stint size.

You do realize that the one season in which Brady did not play in the preseason was 2008 and we all know what happened week 1. Brady did indicate later that he felt partly responsible as he was not yet in game time shape and could of perhaps felt the pressure and avoided the hit . . . so I hear yah, but the grass is not always greener on the other side of the fence. . .

I agree 100% Older you get the less flexiable you are and the longer it takes to heal. I will take it one step further. I think they really have to monitor how much playing time Brady gets. This staying in the game when the game is decided is really not necessary.

I understand getting reps and getting everyone better with real live game reps. But at some point you have to just say is it worth TB being in a game that is over and risking any injury.

Guy is banged up every playoffs.

Exactly. I guess I'd ask that the team or Brady's orthopedic put Tom in a knee brace before he steps into another 11 on 11 or game of any kind. No reason for Tom not to be wearing a brace IMO.

We NEED an adequate backup in case this type of injury happens during the season. While we may or may not agree that we are screwed if Brady is down for the season, certainly it advisable to have a solid backup just in case Brady is out for a month.

Precisely! Maybe they should spend a lot of time working on developing that backup instead of wasting time on a circus show. If they want the circus to be the back up then go for it. I think they should just put all energy into one or the other. If they say its TT I am cool with it as long as they win games.

I feel like we just played our get out of jail card today.

So is anybody else, worried, upset about the play of Solder?? The sacks allowed. The holding penalties all last year now this. was very happy when the pick was made for him. BUT AM NOT HAPPY with the production or lack of. Really thought he would protect Brady but that doesn't seem to be the case. He needs to wake up and DO HIS JOB!!!

You sound foolish. Solder has been just fine. Teammates have been saying nothing but great things. This is a big year for him, that said. Brady didn't and wasn't going to get sacked on that play today. He got the pass off, it was incomplete. Solder may have been pushed back some, but that happens.

He has been very solid for us, albeit not ELITE...yet. He has shown to be a very good capable starting LT...but would be nice if he made that jump this year. Like I said, big year for him.

Linemen get beat...it happens. The important thing is to make sure it doesn't happen very often...particularly when you're playing LT for Tom Brady.

Wow! Talk about blowing something out of proportion. The guy is fine and is regarded as a very solid LT. What production of his are you not happy with??? He does not have enough receiving yards? He is a tackle and a good one.

This was a fluky thing and could have happened to anyone. Perhaps he was battling with an elite DE or tripped. Whatever! Sore knee!!! Gotta make the best of it, improvise, adapt to the environment, Darwin, **** happens, I Ching, whatever man, we all gotta roll with it

Mike Reiss was on the radio today raving about how great Solder has looked and said that he is rapidly evolving into a premier NFL left tackle. Blaming him for Brady's injury is like blaming warm ocean waters for the presence of sharks.

Solder had 3 penalties all of last year: 1 holding and 2 false starts. Nice try.

You would think someone with the screen name patsfan4life actually watched the games.
