A$ante thinks he's an HOFer

I'm not going to slate a player who has confidence like that. He's certainly one of the better corners in the league and some drive themselves on these kind of comments.

You have to believe you're the best to try and be the best.

As for people who drone on about the 'shoulda, woulda, coulda' INT in SB42 like a broken record, go back and watch it. It never went through his hands like some like to suggest; it came off the tips of his fingers. Would love to see some of the league's best corners make tat catch...it wasn't a doddle.

Asante's best moments were on display while wearing a Patriots uniform. Unfortunately, his lamest moments were on display while the Patriots were competing for their fourth title, and he arguably went from potential hero to goat of the game on the Giants' last drive. He then ran to the money and Fleagles where he experienced some great and some lame moments as well (seems like the Fleagles were quite eager to get his act, and contract, out of Cheesesteakadelphia). He's gonna have to be an All Pro in Atlanta for a few seasons in order to be a consideration for the HOF. Asante is merely a legend in his own mind; get rich to this, #22.........

He makes that pick in SB42 and everybody here backs him. I really think Asante had enough raw talent to be an HOFer, unfortunately, he wasn't so bright.

Congratulations to Asante Samuel for getting inducted into the self-proclaimed hall of fame! A monumental achievement. Good job, good effort
According to the voter, the election was unanimous.

HOFers don't get traded for a 7th round pick.

Changing his tune a little...

Asante Samuel likes to talk. This year, he could be doing plenty of it from the sidelines.

Samuel currently is stuck behind Dunta Robinson on the official depth chart, second string on the right side. Making the status even less desirable for Samuel is that he prefers the left side.

But Brent Grimes is the starter on the left side. When the Falcons deploy three corners, Robinson plays the slot, and Grimes and Samuel alternate on the left and right sides.

“Of course, that is where I made my living,” Samuel said regarding the left side, according to D. Orlando Ledbetter of the Atlanta Journal Constitution. “All my production came from the left. It’s going good. It’s a new thing for me, switching back and forth, trying to get my mojo right. All is good. The coaches are going to do what they think is best.”

While Samuel prefers the left side, he was frozen by a stutter step and then burned for a 50-yard touchdown pass by Bengals receiver A.J. Green.

It's not just that he didn't get that one pick, it's that he gave no effort throughout the entire playoffs. He played incredibly soft, he played scared.

And he flubbed it, regardless of how it happened.

He's been getting torched in Atlanta's pre-season games. He may of just mentally just given up. (or already did years ago)

Sammy needs to change that tat from Get Paid to Get High because he's obviously under the influence.
Foolish clown! :D

Like his career at CB, he simply jumped the route on that assumption. Depending on his play throughout the rest of his career, he can either take it to the house and earn a HoF nod (unlikely) or he could get toasted for a deep bomb down the sidelines (likely).

Nobody ever accused Asante of being an intelligent man.

His feet wouldn't have landed in bounds anyway. I never understood why so many people treat this play like a Buckner-esque gimme that should have been a foregone conclusion. To make that catch and come down in-bounds would have been a hell of a play.

From the first angle it looks like they did come down in bounds.

As much as I wanted him to get that interception it was a tough catch. Meriweather had a tipped pass go off his hands on that drive as well.

Yeah, and I'm the f@#$%^& King of England.

I'll comment upon this tomorrow when I stop laughing.

Dear Limey,

Please quote ANY post preceding yours about his non-interception.

I've read several about him leaving his man so Rodney Harrison gets posterised. Try to complain about posts that actually occurred.:)

I'm with you. I don't hate him for not catching that pass. I do hate him for letting some scrub WR all alone and screwing the Patriots over.
