Dolphins will torch Patriots secondary on Saturday

When mediocre QBs are tossing the ball all over the field against us (see Vince Young and his 400 yds), Matt Moore throwing for 300 is actually expected. This does not concern me though, as I believe our offense will outduel theirs.

Doesn't matter how bad the patriots defense is. The only thing that is going to stop the patriots is if Brady has a bad day passing the football.

The game plan this year is that we have a better offense than you. We can score on a more CONSISTENT basis than you. Doesn't matter how good or bad our defense is. If the defense makes a couple of stop, that is pure gravy.

So you are saying Brady will break Marino's record on Saturday?:singing:

I love me a good "xxx will torch Patriots secondary" thread on good ole' Patsfans.com.

It's like waking up to the smell of fresh roasting coffee. Makes me feel all tingly inside.

Yes, this game worries me and I don't think that as fans we should get too out in front of ourselves. Hoping for a win but this is far from a given. Miami has been playing well recently and it is a division game, which are usually not easy games.

Yeah....and? We cant get off the field when we play a QB who can throw a lick. Those yards will pile up.

So, what's your point? Are you predicting the Patriots will lose because of the defense? Everyone here knows this potentially could be a very tough game, but the Pats NEED A WIN more than Miami does. The team that NEEDS IT MORE usually wins unless considerably over-matched going in. Last I checked the Dolphins have a nobody as interim head coach, so who is the brainiac that's going to outmaneuver BB with Xs and Os? Or will the Dolphins win solely on superior athletic ability?

My point is that this one has the looks of Packers - Chiefs to me. The Dolphins are quite capable of winning this one and are playing very well. My guess is that the Patriots come out flat in a game that is hard to get up for and find a very energetic Miami team. I haven't posted my predict the score yet, but this may very well be the first time I pick the Pats to lose this season.

On the Xs and Os part of your comment, DC Mike Nolan is a very good coach with HC experience. Working with Todd Bowles, these are experienced football coaches. Bowles has been coaching in the league for 10 years and was a key guy on the Redskins during their heyday in the 1980s. The interim staff in Miami is solid.

Yeah

Those 4 TD blowout wins must really torment you.

LOL!

I'm just making the point that any team that makes the playoff's can win the whole thing - 'cept Broncos. No way Broncos win it.

Who are you, Satan?

"...come out flat..."? When they're fighting for a bye and home field throughout the play-offs? You gotta do better than that.

Patriots would never come out flat in this situation. That's like saying they would come out flat in back to back home playoff games..

Dolphins QB Matt Moore is the best passer the Patriots defense has seen in a while. He completes 61% of his passes and does not turn the ball over (only six interceptions in 2011). He's a competent pocket passer with good receivers in Bess, Marshall and Fasano. Fasano and Marshall missed practice this week.

After watching Tim Tebow pitch out of the stretch and his 48% completion rate (11-22 against the Pats), Matt Moore will look like Dan Marino on Saturday. Reggie Bush is going to keep the linebackers in their run protect gaps even on passing downs so the Patriots secondary will be on their own trying to keep Moore under control. Yikes.

The Dolphins have won 5 of their last 7 and scored 30 or more in three of those games. Their defense has held three teams under 10 (KC, Buffalo and Washington) - all wins. This has trap game written all over it.

Stay thirsty, my friends.

A monkey with a lighter and some kindling could torch our worthless secondary.

What are you telling us here that we do not already know?

I'm not sure why this would be considered a trap game; are we that eager to get another shot at the freefalling Buffalo Bills that we are in danger of overlooking the Dolphins.

Botom line is the secondary "is what it is" and according to Sanders on NFL Network that something is hot garbage!

Wait so you are talking about torching and then in the pick thread you picked the pats to win by like 16

Bah. This team knows what's at stake and they also know that the Dolphins have been playing their best football of the season. I highly doubt they come out flat. In fact, I think the Pats defense will be surprisingly strong in this one.

We're all waiting on pins and needles. ;)

It's the same staff that's been there all year minus a head coach. I'll put my money on the Pats staff.

It does not matter if he does or doesn't torch the secondary on Saturday. Miami, for the last couple of years, has not been albe to cover the tight end. Game. Over.

Who are you, Satan?

Maybe he is Jesus. If you saw the SNL skit, maybe he has decided to stop bailing out the Broncos in the fourth quarter.

BTW, I don't think any of the potential 6th seed teams have what it takes to win three road games in the playoffs to get to the Super Bowl.

You're really going out on a limb here!

Meh, as long as we win...

Let me guess

You must think long and deep........

What did we do to deserve your uber insight?
