Dolphins QB Matt Moore is the best passer the Patriots defense has seen in a while. He completes 61% of his passes and does not turn the ball over (only six interceptions in 2011). He's a competent pocket passer with good receivers in Bess, Marshall and Fasano. Fasano and Marshall missed practice this week.

After watching Tim Tebow pitch out of the stretch and his 48% completion rate (11-22 against the Pats), Matt Moore will look like Dan Marino on Saturday. Reggie Bush is going to keep the linebackers in their run protect gaps even on passing downs so the Patriots secondary will be on their own trying to keep Moore under control. Yikes.

The Dolphins have won 5 of their last 7 and scored 30 or more in three of those games. Their defense has held three teams under 10 (KC, Buffalo and Washington) - all wins. This has trap game written all over it.

Stay thirsty, my friends.

I just don't see that happening. GB or NO yeah, Miami No.

So if Dolphins are going to torch our defense, just think what Brady is going to do to theirs. ;)

aslong as the pats win whatever.

But with the way the defense has been playing............................I think ill start Brandon Marshall this week.

Matt Moore was 10 for 20 against a bad Buffalo defense last week. Let's get real here. Besides Tebow got most of his passing yards in garbage time.

It is very likely that the Dolphins score 25, and the Patriots score 30.

This not a revelation. Moore will be over 300 yards. He'll take the sacks though. We'll see how well the kid does.

I'm VERY concerned about Miami's running game. Bush and Thomas are having very good years and the 'Fins WRs are VERY good downfield blockers.

Their D is pretty decent too.

This game will not be easy at all.

Translation

Matt Moore saw what Chad Henne was able to accomplish in the 4th quarter down three touchdowns and then proceed to "torch" the Patriots secondary.

Unfortunately, the "career day" will end like all the other "career days" with his team blown out by multiple scores.

However, it will provide excitement and joy to various mediot types and the village idiots at patsfans.com.

Thirst is not your problem, my friend.

why are you making Matt Moore out to be playing so great? This is his stats:

Buffalo Bills - 160 yards passing

Cowboys - 288 yards passing

Oakland - 162 yards passing

Eagles - 95 yards passing

Bills - 217 yards passing

Why all of a sudden is Matt Moore going to throw for 500 yards us, again?

If Moore does throw for 300 yards against the Pats it will most likely be why Tebow, Orlovsky, Young, Henne, Campbell, and Sanchez had so many passing yards against the Pats. It will most likely be that the Pats have an insurmountable lead in the 4th and Moore gets a lot of garbage time yards.

People look at the final stat sheet and not the games. Most of the QBs who have had "career days" against the Pats really only got the opportunity to look good on the stat sheet because the Pats took the foot off the gas. The Pats' don't have a great pass defense, but their defense looks far statistically worse because they are consistently protecting three and four score leads in the fourth quarter.

It is a trap game if they look past the Fish to a future opponent (to what, the the faltering Bills?), and given the Fish's success in December against the Pats historically, recent success by the Fish over the past seven games, and the fact a first round bye is on the line in this game, I seriously doubt it.

Bush couldn't run on the Pats before and Henne threw for 416 yards in the loss (that statistic alone qualifies as 'torching', so I am not sure Moore could do much better this game). That performance in a win is probably enough to motivate the Pats to not allow a repeat. And somehow Moore with his 190 ypg does not cause me to tremble given the level of play exhibited by teams the Fish have beaten down the stretch.

This is the more dangerous of the last two regular season games, and is time to show the Pats can mount something of a defense during the playoffs. Will it be the resurgence of the 2003 Pats' defense? I doubt it. Will Matt Moore carve the defense up in a defeat? I doubt that as well.

I am more nervous about Miami's running game. Our stout run D has looked pretty porous the last few weeks. I don't think this is a trap game though. Miami has usually given the Pats at least one tough game each year, so BB and TB won't be looking past them. Plus, we have the No. 1 seed on the line - we've got to stay focused, so I think we will.

Go Pats!!

The 3-4 seemed to fix what ailed the ]un D against the Tebows.

Yea, so basically he's going to do what every QB has done this year to our defense.........I'm ok with that.

Rodgers and Brees scare me, no one else.

fans are still scarred by that "12 minutes in December Mile High" slasher flick that ended up with the FBI (FuriousBradyInsurgency) tracking down the Choking One early and putting him away for the remainder of the season.

Lots of confidence in the posts so far. A let down by the Patriots after the circus of last week's win on the road is a very real possibility. The coaching staff has a real task keeping the Patriots focused on an opponent they blew out in week one in Miami.

I agree with the poster who said Miami is more worrisome than Buffalo. The Bills and their fans have lost interest after a terrific start. The Dolphins have gotten better and have something to prove to someone. It seems like there is veteran leadership on that team that is determined to have a respectable year. Beating the Pats in Foxboro would make their season a success, of sorts.

Someone interpreted the OP as a prediction of 500 yards by Matt Moore. No, but 300 yards passing by Moore is a real possibility combined with a good game by Reggie Bush who has found his role in the run and short passing game. This is their equivalent of a playoff game and guys are playing and coaching for jobs next year either with the Dolphins or elsewhere.

P.S. Nostradamus told me the guy who wants golf clubs for Christmas will get them. Ho Ho Go Pats!

Lots of yards will go up on the scoreboard.

Oh wait... yards don't go up on the scoreboard. We need to inform ESPN, NFL Network, and some others ASAP.

The Dolphins are playing well right now (although they haven't beaten anyone really good) and could pull the upset. Not saying they won't.

I am just tired of people saying this or that QB will throw for 300-400 yards on the Pats. Most of the average to mediocre QBs who have had done so did it in decisive victories by the Pats. The only one who bucks that trend is Ryan Fitzpatrick, but he was playing like an upper tier QB when the Pats faced him.
