Brady, in the MVP race?

What you probably need is a game time weather condition handicap. Domes are always clear and 75F or whatever, though 75F and clear is different than 80F and a rain storm like you might get in Miami in October. If I were to do the analysis, I'd take that into account.

No, I think you just take the averages. Domes are completely controlled environments. Outdoors can be too hot, too cold, raining, snowing, windy.... Or fine. An average would do the trick.

I would take the last five years, just to keep it simple. Although if you could go back to 1980 it would be even better. :)

You cant compare Messi with Cristiano. I mean Cristiano is good but Messi is like a Brady-Montana-Vick-Sanders-Primetime-Singletary or something like this

Hey guys!

Brady, in the MVP race? That's a good one.
He's on my list in the Most Disappointing Players thread.

Manning will be the MVP or Rivers.Brady wont be in the mold unfortunatly.

I won't even consider Brady the clear MVP on our team.

Rivers by a mile over Brady for MVP right now.

Rivers if the MVP was voted by rational people, and since it's not I don't really care what irrational people decide.

The only reason why Brady is in the MVP conversation is because of our record. He has not played at an MVP level and his numbers are worse than Rivers and Manning

Rivers is more important to his team than any other player in the NFL.

the colts are going to win 11 games and so will the pats so it's comeing down to stats and peyton will have better stats then Brady, at the end. and why not add Sanchez,

Is there a reason why LaDainian Tomlinson and Mark Sanchez aren't on that list? Seeing as they play for the team that leads the division and all.

Brady isn't in the MVP race. Brady is the MVP race.

I wonder besides superbowls and clutchness if Brady can overtake Satan's stats. That would be sweet (career passer rating, comp %, etc.)

there is no race.. its over .. Brady has won it in the last month..

Brady (10-2)
27 TDs
4 INTs
3,029 yards (66.8% - 7.9 Avg)
109.5 Rating

Vick (6-1)
15 TDs
2 INTs
2,243 yards (63.8% - 8.4 Avg)
467 rushing yards (6 TDs - 6.3 Avg)
105.7 Rating

Rivers (6-6)
24 TDs
10 INTs
3,642 yards (65.5% - 8.8 Avg)
102.5 Rating

Manning (6-6)
24 TDs
15 INTs
3,709 yards (66.1% - 6.9 Avg)
89.4 Rating

Where's everyone who said this would CLEARLY come down to Manning and Rivers? Still there?

Silly Tom Brady, leading the NFL in TDs, TD/INT Ratio and QB Rating while having the best record in the league.

I'm suprised i wasn't on that list before... i really did't think brady had a shot at MVP i thought vick ,rivers or the media love child manning would get it... i was wrong

what a monster game tonight...With Manning's last couple of weeks, Brady clearly moves ahead of him.

It's his to lose at this point, but remember theres still a quarter of the season left.

As long as we make the post season, he will win MVP no doubt!

And its looking that way!

Tom Brady moves to head of MVP discussion - ESPN Boston

Yet it's more than field smarts that separates Brady from the pack. Even though his team skipped off the field with a 24-3 halftime lead, the quarterback was in his team's grill about the final two series of the half.

"We were terrible on those," said Branch, "and Tom let us know about it."

Great stuff. At least one poster on this board mentioned how the Jets had been more aggressive on D those last two Pats possessions of the first half, and the question was how much that would carry over. TFB took care of that.

Only a blind man would not see Brady as one of the favourites to win MVP, it probably really is his to lose at this point even.

However, while it is nice to see him get recognized for the his season, it doesn´t really matter, other than on the stat line when he retires.

What´s most important to me is that I have not enjoyed watching the Patriots as much as in the last few weeks for quite some time. It´s a pleasure on the eye and in so many areas they are putting out textbook execution as a team. Add the seemingly great team spirit and TFB leadership it really is a humbling experience.

Thank god for this last decade and a half of Patriots football, unbelievable fortunate to be a Patriots fan at this point of time.

As much as I agree with his conclusion that Brady > Manning, Whitlock's argument is weak. Brady is tougher than Manning? Maybe, but Manning is pretty tough. Didn't he play with his jaw wired shut at one point in his career?

There is no comparison here. Yes Manning is lucky that nobody ever took out his ACL so he can claim X number of starts in a row...just watch the two of them play. Manning against the Chargers was hit a total of four times in the entire game yet the camera showed him wincing his face and rushing his passes toward the end of the game in anticipation of getting hit. Ever seen Brady look like that besides maybe in 2008?

Like everything else in this league it is a popularity contest, and Brady is the least likely to be chosen until such time as there is no other choice. The media would rather give the reward to Manning, Vick, Rapeburger, Rivers, Sanchez, hell even Sam Bradford....but eventually they HAVE to give it to Brady if he seperates himself to such a degree...If it is close they will much prefer to give it to a serial rapist, dogkiller, overhyped drama queen, ect...

Well, at the moment he seems to get a lot of attention. Not that you can ignore his recent play...

However, it is a popularity contest. That´s why I really don´t see any importance here. If he wins it, it´s nothing more than a line on his stat sheet after he retires IMO. It´s nice, but there is a proper trophy to be won in February. And at the moment the team and TFB are certainly looking hell bent on going for it.

Sit back and enjoy the ride, ignore the MVP, ProBowl etc stuff. Does anybody look back on the 2007 season and console himself thinking about Brady´s MVP? Does Brady? Didn´t think so.

Maybe those guys at ProFootballFocus will put him in the top 10.

How about Ryan or Cassel?

Because I agree that the media will do their best not to give it to Brady, and stretch to find any other reasonable alternative.

Say it with me now: Brady for MVP

After last night, is there ANY DOUBT who the MVP of the National Football League is? I'll spell it out, that man is Tom Brady. He is simply the most dominant offensive player on the football field whenever he is out there. Defenses must account for him or get ready to be embarrassed. He has torn apart top rated defensive units such as the Steelers and now the Jets defenses.

There is no scarier offensive football player than Tom Brady in the game today, bar none. Brady left Manning in his rear view window about three weeks ago. However this gets done and it better be done, let it be said, Tom Brady for MVP. Anything else would be an injustice!
