Brady, in the MVP race?

san deigo stats on defense are misleading they faced 4 teams all in the bottom of the NFL in offense and only one has a winning record

Agreed, the patriots gave up 400 yards on defense tonight as well but only allowed 14 points and forced 4 turnovers.

Statistics this early (and alot of the time in general ie: patriots defense tonight) are very misleading, give it until mid season for things to get into their respective spots.

Kinda hard to judge stats that came vs KC, Seattle, Az and Jville.
Being 2-2 vs that schedule would seem to make those rankings an anomoly/

You could say that about the 2009 patriots as well on both offense and defense

I think Baltimore was as close to beating a decent team all last year,we did look good beating weak teams though,it's a part of many teams stats and you take what you are given and make the best out of it...SD has done that so far,NE did last year

How is Mannings .500 record putting him in the lead? 0-2 in his own division too. And please dont give me the 'he played good and the D lost it? MVPs win games regardless of excuses
You are kidding with Sanchez right?

the colts are going to win 11 games and so will the pats so it's comeing down to stats and peyton will have better stats then Brady, at the end

and why not add Sanchez, it's only week 4 there are still about 50 guys in the race for MVP so if we are talking about MVP in week 4 why would we not add the only starting QB in the NFL with 0 INT's and the division lead on the list ?

Is his name Manning? Does he have an enormous forehead? Is he putting up record numbers?

No?

Well then no MVP, better luck next time.

I know offense is sexy, but where is Troy Polamalu on this list? Where would the Steelers be without him?

No qualms with the offensive choices, and I think Brady really is up there in contention. If the Pats' D improves throughout the year, the argument for Brady goes southward unless he tops the forehead in key statistical categories.

Manning should be MVP even if his team is 2-14 . If he was MVP two years ago and last year with arguable best players, I hope the same now

Brady will be the MVP of the Super Bowl instead

When Belichick said every player deserves a team ball, he really means it. Not just Ninkovich and Chung but...

1. The interior of the OL for protecting Brady (I know Light and Vollmer had a tough time.

2. The entire OL for opening up holes for BJGE.

3. RBs BJGE and Woodhead. That second drive by BenJarvus really swung momentum even though it ended in 3 points (some poor playcalling there by O'Brien).

4. The DL (unsung heroes for the game) stoned Miami's running game, and they didn't without much help. They were very stout after the first series. This allowed Belichick to flood the zones with LBs, and that lead to much of Henne's hesitation. The Patriots defended Miami the way other teams defend the Patriots, by disrespecting the run and flooding the zones.

5. Brandon Tate

6. All the other guys on special teams, such as Sammy Morris, Zoltan Mesko, Gostkowski, etc.

7. Brady for being Brady.

wtf? So ur argument is that the Colts are gonna win 11, I agree with that, but you cant say that Sanchez had been great in 4 games, that make no sense.

right now, it ain't brady

Who cares who wins what is nothing more than a media popularity contest?

I think he'd be in the race at this point. If the team wins the division with this young defense, I'd think he'd have to be in the running.

Looking now at the 5 QBs from a few weeks ago...

Manning (4-2)
1,916 Yards
13 TDs
2 INTs
103.4 Rating

Rivers (2-4)
2,008 Yards
12 TDs
5 INTs
100.7 Rating

Brady (4-1)
1,203 Yards
10 TDs
4 INTs
98.5 Rating

Brees (4-2)
1,673 Yards
12 TDs
6 INTs
97.6 Rating

Rodgers (3-3)
1,546 Yards
10 TDs
7 INTs
89.7 Rating

Rivers being on a 2-4 team kills him and Rodgers has hurt himself. So far, Manning remains the clear cut choice once again.

Kyle Orton deserves "top 5 QB" consideration this season but the Broncos won't be going anywhere.
