Devin McCourty around the web

Never said he was. I said that he was the EXACT same height. Ty Law was no midget and neither is McCourty.

I'm just angry that BB didn't take Dez Bryant, Odrick, Kindle, or Hughes in the first round. All big needs that weren't addressed.

Who cares who people are in love with? If you listened to the fans on this board two years ago, the Pats totally blew the draft because they didn't trade up over the Jets to get a stud like Vernon Gholston and instead traded down and reached for Jarod Mayo.

None of us know how any of these draft picks will do. I guarantee you plenty of the picks that people will be touting across the country tonight will be busts and the ones that people are scratching their heads about will turn into Pro Bowlers.

I wasn't a frequent poster then, but that's not my memory. Most thought Mayo was a good pick.

Not a chance, I'll change my tune. Do you really thing he'll still be there? Really?

The Pats pick 12th tomorrow and have plenty of picks to move up. They have 12 more picks left on the board. No way do they use them all. They will definitely use picks to either move up or into next year's draft. They could very well move up to get Kindle tomorrow.

True, I wanted Kindle and while it's not likely, we still might get him.

However, looking at who's left, there's a lot better chance at getting a good pass rusher than a good corner.

Probably one of the better posts in this thread.

Back off the ledge guys - plenty of picks left

I was expecting to go in the 4th Rd,

What part of him being mock drafted and rated in the 1st round are you pretending not to understand?

I should have been more specific and said some fans. A lot more thought it was a mistake not to trade up to get Gholston though.

7 of the picks are in the 6th round or later including compensation picks that I believe cannot be traded.

They have the 12th pick tomorrow. Do you really see them moving up to the top?

In BB's defensive scheme you need 6/7 players in coverage. This guy has been a 3-yr starter, he understands zone/man concepts and he is tough vs run and makes plays vs pass. Excellent tackler which is a good quality to have vs pass happy spread looks. These type of players help the pass rush because they allow BB to disguise looks, Check this kid out on youtube, played all over the place and is a smooth athlete and solid, solid player.

Why would we draft a corner when we just locked up Bodden and have Butler? I can understand drafting a CB in the later rounds but was ANOTHER CB really the biggest need for this team?
3rd corner plays as many plays as NT, ILB, DE....
And its been a sore thumb on this team for 5 years.

It's all part of Bill's "master plan".
He figures he needs at least 6 CB's on the field at the same time since he wants to give the opposing QB's unlimited time to throw the ball.
Here's a question for BB - why bother upgrading the defensive backfield if they'll have ZERO shot at being successful without a quality NFL pass rush??
What a foolish pick.
We need a GM

you're very emotional...aren't you?

let's pretend Bill Belichick called you up at about 8:30 tonight and told you that he felt you knew much more about the needs of the team.. and then let's pretend he asked you for advise on the pick. who would you tell him to take (in the first round). My guess is you're thinking offense (cuz offense is sexy) and you're going to tell him to take Dez Bryant. Is that your advice to Bill and is that why you're so emotional?

I like the pick. And like others feel that needs will easily be filled with upcoming picks.

We aboard, Devin.

Another BB jaw dropper, well atleast he admitted one thing with this pick, Terrence Wheatley's 2nd round selection was bust. Atleast BB tries to correct his mistakes

A) How likely is a WR to contribute as a rookie in our offense? BB clearly felt not much because he traded the slot that both were picked in. How likely is Dez Bryant to be the guy smart enough to pick up our offense:rolleyes:
B) Odrick would be langusing on the bench this season. He isnt beating out Wright and Lewis, 2 seasoned veterans who are solid players. We are fine on the DL.
C) Why cant we draft pass rushers in the 2nd round? Kindle is still there too.

You're right, and it's why I knew there was a decent chance we would take a corner as it looked like the late first would be a good spot for someone like Wilson or McCourty. I'm still a little bummed we passed on Bryant and Kindle though. This is why I hate that we have to wait til tomorrow for round two, because we're not seeing the full picture yet. We could still pick a de and olb in the second round, heck we'd BETTER take a de and olb in the second round!!!!

At least we picked that third back up lol

Devin McCourty had a grand total of 2 picks in the last 2 years. He has made as many impact plays as The Scarlet Knight himself!!! He is a special teams player, we should have drafted a punter instead. At least we would have filled a bigger need. Worst first round pick ever, I think BB was just jealous of all the attention Mangini generated when he took Gholston. McCourty will be out of football in 5 years tops.
