Agreed, its just serves as a reminder of that painful superbowl and celebrates mediocrity. Its like how the Buffalo Bills have banners celebrating 4 consecutive AFC ChampionshipsI hope that Indy and NO both go undefeated so Kraft will take down that lame 16-0 banner.
IT would be an awesome thing to see....but for this weekends game, I want to see Pay-A-Ton Manning loose to McDaniel's this weekend. It will hopefully prove that all he is an overpaid wanna be tv commercial actor.
Took me exactly 0.000001 second to pick Denver.
A couple of things:
The Colts fans, in general, could care less about going undefeated, they only care about post season success, which is understandable since the Colts have done it very consistently in the regular season and only truely one year in the playoffs.
Manning's not done or really close, but you can start to at least think about it and understand these are the salad days. Great regular seasons just aren't good enough anymore, imo.
I think the players from all of the quotes feel the same way that the playoffs are what matters, not undefeated.
NE kinda took the sizzle off of the undefeated regular season, so it's not really as big of a deal as it was for NE. Another words, it's been done and recently, and it didn't end with a ring.
If the Colts win this weekend, they'll basicaly shut it down for many key players since they lock up #1 seed. Agree or disagree with this strategy, it's what they'll do, with undefeated season having no bearing on this decision.
So with that said, I'd say Jax and the Jets both with everything to play for against a second half of Jim Sorgi and Mike Hart that it's a moot point about undefeated, it just won't happen.
I'm obviously rooting for the Colts to win, but I would not be heartbroken to see another meaningful week, so that the team has to play full throttle at least one more game.
To me, and many Colts fans, players, etc., 16-0 means absolutely nothing. Only post season success matters now.
