    Wheatley and Wilhite

With Bodden, Butler, McCourty, and possibly Springs getting the majority of the snaps, Wilhite and Wheatley are right where they belong - young, cheap, relatively experienced depth guys who know the system, and not the end of the world if they have to sub for injured starters for a few games.

OT: Breer: Scout: Dez Bryant best WR prospect in 10 years

Riddler - remember that 3 SBs came this way without Moss, or Welker. It was undrafted Troy Brown, Deion Branch, David Givens, David Patten and a cast of thousands. A well-balanced offensive attack is more important than the individual parts, as long as Brady is pulling the trigger and the...

OT: Breer: Scout: Dez Bryant best WR prospect in 10 years

Firstly, give me the benefit of the doubt, as you guys have thousands of well-considered posts, and I'm a mere rookie. :) The title of this thread was "Dez Bryant best WR prospect in 10 years". Maybe I could have been more concise, but if that were TRUE, I'd have a hard time believing he'd...

Patriots have the second oldest offensive line in the NFL

If NE transitions to a more balanced offensive attack, the OL will be fine regardless of age. When you throw the ball 35 times a game, they'd better be able to hold their blocks and handle good edge rushers. Haven't we learned that by watching the difference between the Pats in the early 2000's...

OT: Breer: Scout: Dez Bryant best WR prospect in 10 years

Dallas took Bryant at #24. Twenty-three teams passed on him. It took a team with an owner who has already sold his soul (see: phantom of the opera facelift) to pick him... because of both his love of physical talent at all costs as well as his (very real) business acumen. Jones won't EVER pass...

Patriots All-Access: Inside the War Room/interview with Nick Caserio

Re: Patriot Access: Inside the War Room/interview with Nick Caserio Thanks for the link! That was good stuff. My wife even asked me to turn it up, which was a pleasant surprise... All in all I felt good about this draft last weekend, and the more homework I do the better I feel about it...

Are you happy with this draft class?

Yes, this looks like a solid draft. In particular at TE - I'd hope this will ease people's worry about the WR position, as they have two guys who can run routes and catch. One quick note - I've seen alot of complaints about BBs drafting, and there's no doubt there have been alot of misses...

After today... This looks like a 9-7 team as of today..

Agreed - what we're seeing is the conversion of the Defense from one allowed to maul receivers (2001, 2003, 2004) until Polian whined his way into the rule books. With receivers being allowed to roam freely for all purposes + the advent of so many spread attacks, the key is speed. Look at Butler...

Is Belichick satisfied with our running game?

And elfin98 - excellent point about RB next year. The guys on the roster are done after this year to my knowledge - contracts will be up. This is good business - use them up. Maroney is still on his rookie contract, so hand him the ball at will. Use up Taylor and Morris to your heart's content...

Is Belichick satisfied with our running game?

AndyJohnson - yes, agreed completely. Let's take two (relatively) contemporary examples: The Marion Butts era. The guy ran for around 3 yards per carry. But Parcells handed him the ball 300 times anyways. Used him right up, until the bitter end. It was no mistake that Bledsoe passed for...

    What are your religious beliefs?

Quite fond of Thor. I saw an avalanche while hiking in Norway a couple years ago (sounded like thunder), and I was like "a-ha. I get it". Izinagi and Izinami have caught my attention as well. The whole 'brine spear' thing does it for me. Buddha seems like fun (pretty peaceful), and I...

After today... This looks like a 9-7 team as of today..

Re: After today... Still a 9-7 team... This team will be one of 12 to make the playoffs, As fans, that's all we can really ask for every year, and for the most part we get it. I have no interest in being part of a fanbase who start acting like Yankees fans - entitled and fattened, bored and...

    Crable, Tate & McKenzie

With Moss and Holt on the roster, we shouldn't expect too much from Tate this year. Next year the space will clear for him to step up, and he'll move into year three, in which he either gets it or never will. He deserves two more years to show what he can do. Ditto for McKenzie. At the least...

Where have all the b1tchers gone?

Thank you Patjew! Thank you thank you. The Globe and Herald sites were making me boil... glad I found this place to get all sides of the story and not just people who would give Ivan the Terrible a race to claim the title of "reactionary". This was a solid draft, and solid is good. As...
