I'm thinking about going to a camp practice this season. A couple of questions for the vets:
1. Is it usually packed? Or is there plenty or room to spreadout?
2. What is the best time to get there?
3. And where is the best place to sit?
Wont be able to see them aug 1-2nd due to the Bruce Springsteen concert
I've never had a problem finding a place to sit. The best IMO, is on the hill as the bleachers can get quite hot.
We usually get there 1/2 hr before the start.
I usually pick an afternoon, mid week, when they've had a morning session.
Make sure you check web site or call a few hrs before as they've been known to cancel for numerous reasons.
Is there any chance for Autographs?
Absolutely! At the end of practices they designate different players to sign for that day. I'm not sure you'll know in advance of who that'll be, but usually it's 3-4 guys and they rotate throughout the month. In years past they sometimes would have players down by the pro shop too, but I'm not sure they still do that. Just check out where all the "kids" line up by the ropes in front of the stands, just before practice ends for where to go!!!
GREAT!! 32 more days!!!
You're right. They haven't done the pro shop for the last couple of years. However, Tommy is almost a definite for opening day. If my memory serves me correctly...last year opening day was Tom, Randy, LoMo, and Vrabes.
This is one little lady who is psyched about camp! (I guessed that it would be the opener on my last podcast but that was just by looking at past years.)
Wooooohoooo!!!
There is no other sport that has so much passion that fans crawl all over one another waiting for training camp to begin?
I think that in the world of sports, at least here in the USA, nothing even comes close.
Spring training for baseball, Yawn.
Hockey and Basketball pre season, Yawn.
But for the NFL, it gets more blood going than anything I can think of.
Thoughts?
It might be that in some sports with a lot of regular season games, the playoffs are a relief? I mean we only get 16-19 games by our fave team a year.
I know I don't want summer to go too fast, but seriously, I can't wait.
Will any Pat's pre-season games be televised, btw?
Every year I can't wait for the summer to be over. people think I am nuts.
