Draft Game... Comment Thread

Atlanta has a great MLB in Michael Boley.

Hmm.. Roddy White is a pretty decent wide receiver. Alge Crumpler, when healthy is one of the best TE's in the league.

They've got a couple good running backs......

Hmmm... WOW...

That's a better list than I could manage, but I did actually think about it and couldn't name any areas of strength. It's amazing that they won any games at all last year. Even Miami has some good players: Ronnie Brown, Carey isn't bad, Satele will develop, they may squeeze another season out of Jason Taylor....

The start of the draft has rather caught me by surprise. I was clear about my first pick (actually, I was clear that it would be one of three: Chris Long, Ryan or Gholston) but have to do some more scouting. However, it is now 10.46 pm over here and I have a meeting tomorrow morning.

I will spend Thursday evening, Good Friday and Saturday doing some prep. Here's a gimme. I won't be taking a QB in the second round.

For those of you who didn't do this last year, I suggest an Excel (or similar) spreadsheet. Do a big draft board. When people are drafted, remove them which is easy enough to do. When it's your turn, pick the highest name on the list.

The fun is in the prep and having an imagination. Last year I was picking as Indy so I was looking for smaller, faster defenders, a slot receiver and so on.
Da Bruinz also caught me out by saying that LJ Shelton had been released. As I said, I need to get up to speed. Have fun overnight and I will see you all tomorrow.

Chris Long was the number one player on my board and when you're picking this high there's a good chance to get your guy. I believe the organization will be very satisfied with this selection.

No worries. Everyone does their boards differently.

I don't think he was criticizing GC's pick but rather saying that as the Rams' player he got his top-rated guy.

Thanks Prime thats exactly what I was saying. Defense wins championships
the Rams should know that by now.

Chris Long is a great pick and the automatic frontrunner for Defensive Rookie.

I didn't think he was criticizing GC's pick. I just wanted to know I wasn't really criticizing his.

So when do i get to pick?

Ah ok, probably sometime tomorrow then.

I am willing to hear offers for the #6 pick. Make your offer here or in PM.

well with Matt Ryan off the board, I had to go with jake long for atlanta, thinking that they lost their starting tackle this year and with a new stud running back, Jake should be a good complamenty player.

Was caught by surprise by the start of the draft.

Also nearly missed my turn when we lost power at my job for hours.

does the board have a spell check?

Oops, are we allowed to trade picks?

Yea, Carriker and Long make a great combo on the DL

That's a good pick with Ryan off the board. DL would have been next best, but with Crumpler gone and a sexy new RB you need someone to solidify some part of that line.

Well there goes that idea... Let's see who lasts to #6.

Not the conventional Atl pick, but I like!...Where will Oakland go here? It should be either McFadden or Dorsey...

p.s. I can no longer edit the original post, how do I update the selections? Is that something a mod can fix?

You'll have to ask someone like Patchick to update it. In the meantime, I'm sure people are capable of reading downwards. ;)

I'm semi-dyslexic! I might try to scroll up! :D

Great pick for Raiders, they take McFadden.

Handel is up, and if he isn't available to make his pick we'll vote on it in this thread, let's do first five posters to agree on player results in that pick.

While Carriker and Long should make a great combination, it does nothing for keeping Bulger safe. that's been a huge problem for the Rams the last couple of years.

Broadway Joe was in a damned if he does, damned if he doesn't position.

Wow, this thing started up fast and furious....I'm not even ready yet...:(

Time to get to work. :singing:
