vrabel trip

I called it as I saw it, and being a Patriots fan clearly my agenda isn't to cover for the Chargers' misfortune. I don't know if you have an agenda or are just interpreting it differently, but what we have is a clear difference of opinion. I feel very strongly that I'm right, and frankly I don't care why you see it differently - I'm sure you're wrong. We'll have to agree to disagree.

I find it offensive that you imply the fans of the winning team are lying about First of all, you can be as offended as you want for all I care. Second, I never said anyone's beyond reproach, I'm sure every team has its share of biased fans. Funny how when the Patriots are on the short end of a call the majority opinion here is always that they were screwed, and when the Pats are on the winning side of a call the opinion is that everything was done just right. Now why is that? Red-white-and-blue glasses is my guess; feel free to be offended, but if the shoe fits...

Yes sir! Same thing goes on in the Chargers forum. Except if you have a different opinion there you might get banned! I like how freely everyone can discuss things here.

Cute slap against the Colts, especially considering what Vrabel gets away with here.

Anyway you're missing the point -- see what Vrabel does even AFTER he's past Rivers after the initial contact. Again -- he kicks up like a Rockette. Watch, it's like he's kicking at the air.

Now, explain that one to me. Why would a guy kick in that spot? Kicking there serves no purpose, such as breaking a fall or anything. So why does he kick even AFTER he's past Rivers?

Can't wait to hear this explanation...

Right. And did you see the black helicopter fly by his foot too.

For gods sake let it go. Let it goooooo! Not even close to a trip. Let it gooooo!

I'm on about 4 forums, this one is more restrictive than the others. I was especially confused when people were screaming that someone had posted the moss story, asking mods to delete it (in fact - the mods changed the thread title twice - never seen that before).

So what is keeping you here?

From the blimp angle, it looked to me like Vrabel tried to hook him after he lost his footing.

There's no ref in the blimp, though, so it obviously looked like nothing from the field and that's all that counts.

The refs miss a million possible infractions and make some calls they shouldn't

The chargers lost because they settled for field goals while the pats got touchdowns.

Quit whining.

Especially hardwick. he should be wearing a dress.

So...what is THIS???...Legwhipgate?

let me guess ...if/then Chargers win?

back in the real world...Giants versus Patriots...Super Bowl...cry Don Diego

crrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrryyyyyyyyyy!

Wow! There it is! A moment of clarity from Deus. It was a trip. So I guess, in your eyes, facemasks shouldn't be called either since its a "natural response" to grab whatever you can to bring a guy down, right?

Still don't get it, I see. Oh, well, that's no surprise. I'll not waste more time on this, since you can't seem to grasp the part about Vrabel being pushed into that play.

I think you have it a little wrong in my opinion. I agree that they miss many infractions in the course of a game and I like a game to be flag free than flag riddled but when it comes to such an important play like this was then it's ok to question the refs. I'm not blaming Vrabel, I'm saying it was a crappy call. I don't think we would have won by any means. IF we were to play again then we would HAVE to be at full force in order to make it a game and this game we were beaten up pretty bad. That's what happens when you have such a successful year, you get a buy week to recuperate. It's just a part of football. But it's the people on here that simply deny that it was a leg whip that makes me smile.

Please dont tell me you are blaming your loss on injuries and implying you could beat us if you were healthy.

pushed? look again. the reason he slid into Rivers was because he was falling away. If he was pushed he could have legally made the hit. He tried to lean on Clary but Clary was beaten so badly that he was not there and when Rivers steps up he caught Vrabel off balance so Vrabel had to do what he had to do.

Try watching the video with eyes that work.

lol. not at all. Are you trying to create another "whiney" San Diego post? Creating something that was not there at all huh?

Read it again. I said

. Nothing gets better than when I have to quote myself just 2 posts down.

How witty. Are we watching the same play? I offered my step by step explanation of what exactly happened in that play. If you disagree I would love to hear what you think Vrabel or Clary did. While reading it I will replay the play and see what you're talking about. If you continue you're "Clary pushed him" or "it was an accident" then I'll believe what I see instead of short answers.

Exactly my point.
You are saying that because Pats fans think its not a penalty and Charger fans think it is, Pats fans are jaded.
Please show me all of my posts about us being screwed by the refs.

The issue I have with your post is that you ASSUME that a Patriot fan cannot be objective, and BASE your argumenty on that.
I have watched the play dozens of times. I see Vrabel going to the ground, doing NOTHING not ordinarily associated with a guy going to the ground, and Rivers falling over him.

I'll ask again. What did you want Vrabel to do? Go out of his way to make sure that Rivers missed his leg? He did nothing blatantly designed to trip Rivers, unless you are implying that instead of staying on his feet to sack him, he PURPOSELY decided to slide, hoping the Rivers would run into him.

stop using your head as a cinder block in karate class

I just don't buy the whole "Rivers falling over Vrabel" explanation. Rivers steps up and THEN Vrabel goes feet first. How often do you see someone slide directly at someone feet first in football? It was a missed call. Vrabel got away with one, give it up. Why are you trying to defend him? This is a knock on the refs, not your boy.

BTW, why is this thread still alive? I want it to be dead more than Pats fans do.

OK, let me get this strsight here.
You are saying that Vrabel, while engaged with a blocker decided to slide 2 yards in front of Rivers and hope that he ran into his legs?
Thats just foolish. What Vrabel would have done IF HE WAS ABLE TO KEEP HIS FEET and thought Rivers was stepping up, would be to reach out and swat at the ball. That is what he does EVERY TIME he is on his feet and near the QB, but engaged by a blocker.

The better question may be why are you still here? You team is yesterdays news.
This is a Patriot board, with fans preparing for the SUPER BOWL.
If you werent here feeding the thread and bumping it to the top, it would have been dead a long time ago.

I guess other team's fans aren't allowed here, huh? I guess we can't watch the SB either since our team is out if it.
