Media/Players Picking the Giants

Let's face it, we have been dealing with this stuff all season. How many times have we heard from the talking heads that our opponent has the blue-print to beat us? or matches well enough to beat us? or is on a roll and will beat us? This has been going on all season and know what? These talking heads have been wrong every time - which I'm sure p*sses them off to no end.

Let them pick the Giants based on hopeful thinking rather than sound logic. In the end, they will look like the fool.

That's pretty funny about Greenberg. Wouldn't he be describing almost exactly a team that's "just happy to be there". The Patriots approach is the right one. Personally, I think right around game time the fact that they're in the Super Bowl is going to hit the Giants, and all that loose, nothing to lose play is going to go right out the window.

It's almost like two college students, one who parties during exam week, and one who parties AFTER exam week, who do you think has the better time?

This is really getting old.I love it though.I also hope the Vegas line drops in the single digits. No one in their right frame of mind should ever pick against the Pats in the SB.Will they ever learn?

Can we possibly have a STICKY that lists the various talking heads, and other players who are picking the GIANTS to win the Super Bowl?

Banks from ESPNEWS outright picked the Giants to win.
Cato June was on for an interview, and he did as well.
Dr. Z picked the Giants to win.
Jerry Rice on Sirius NFL Radio said the Patriots don't match up well with the Giants, and predicted the Giants win the game.

OTHERS:

I really sorry, I didn't mean Banks from ESPN, I mean King, as in Shaun King. My appologies.

To each his own alamo. My experience has been that most analysts and talking heads don't know the Pats well enough to provide well-reasoned and informed opinions of what might happen in the future. Too many of them will spend the next 10 days scaring the crap out of and/or frustrating both Pats and Giants fans.

For me, this dates back to Super Bowl XXXVI when "The Professor", John Clayton, said that the Rams would win the game by 4 or 5 touchdowns. And he is supposed to be a "football" guy.

Trust me guys... turn it off. You will thank me later.

definitely. too bad their jobs didn't depend on decent analysis and getting things right. there'd be a lot less of them and we wouldn't have to put up with their biases.

Add Jason Whitlock to the list.

Anybody know any others yet?

I haven't watched or listened to one sports show since the Pats won the AFC Championship and I am a lot happier for it. You guys should try it. I am going to turn on the TV on Sunday, February 3 at 6:30pm and watch the Super Bowl. Everything else is nonsense.

I have done the same - so much less frustration. TV pundits are fools.

i test my cable connection in the morning and early afternoon, but otherwise i do the same. if i see anything more than the coin toss i've turned it on too early.

That's how I do it. All this means NADA!

Two teams are coming to play - one team is gonna win and by looking at both teams - PATS are favorites. Nothing will change this from now till game time.

They need to fill in this time by starting a stimulating discussion. By saying the PATS will win is not "sexy".

These jackoffs are just trying to stir up controversy so people will pay attention to them. They know the Giants have very little chance against the Pats. It's a condition called AssendReflux and symptoms include a.) talking sh*t while b.) lying out your ass. :D

Rice was on WFAN yesterday and sounded like a little b*tch. According to him his passing O in SF was the equal of the Pats. Maybe true but he's still a little b#tch.

So that makes him a little b*tch because he said his passing offense was as good as the Niners? The guy should be thrown in prison.

bump. this needs to be stickied so we can reference all the idiots we come across crying about giants getting no respect. for a team that theoretically SHOULD get smoked quite a good amount are picking them if u ask me. i dont remember many picking us to beat st louis in 2001

No, his whiney, complaining, vocal tone made him sound like a little b#tch. I didnt disagree with his assertion.

I don't know who "Banks" is, but Cato June is a longtime Colt, Dr. Z is a Jets fan, Jerry Rice's legacy is being encroached upon, and Don Shula and Mercury Morris are the only other undefeateds. In short, the only people picking against the Pats (as has been the case all year long) are those with a vested interest in seeing them fail. These people do not think they will lose, they are HOPING that they will lose. Knowing this, why do you let them get you all hot and bothered?

Steve Mariucci picked the Giants now too.

Somebody mentioned that the spread has fallen from 14 to 11. If that is true, the talking heads aren't the only ones picking the Giants. So are the bettors.

Is Brady "noticeably limping" a week before the Super Bowl the main reason that so many are picking against an 18 and 0 team?

On a somewhat off topic note. Mike Greenberg just went on a very passionate diatribe on how the Giants seem to be having the time of their lives and the Pats are just not enjoying themselves. Stating all the pressure in the world is on the Pats and their season will be a colossal failure if they don't win their last game.

It's one thing to voice that opinion which may have some value, but to rant on for 5 minutes on the topic to the point of appearing to draw quite a bit of pleasure from that idea was hard to listen to.

By the way, Carl Banks also does the Giants games on the radio with Bob Poppa. Not surprising he'd pick them. That would be like Gino picking the Giants.

Somebody needs to ask Mike Greenburg if he considers the Pats a Failure if they lose the Super Bowl then what would best describe his Jets who ended their season at 4 wins and 12 loses. Maybe lower than Whale Sh*t.:D

Keep picking the Giants- the more they yap about the great NYG, the better.

Unlike the Jags and the Chargers the Giants have an offense, something the Pats haven't faced in a while. Strahan and Osi will get their shots at Brady as well.

Dude, the Jags scored nearly as much as the Pats the last 8 games and SD was on a major run. I am not taking anything away from the NYG, but you MUST admit that Jax and SD were on major rolls when the came to Gillette.

That's funny both the Jags and Bolts Offenses scored more points this year than the G-men. "Strahan and Osi will get their shots at Brady as well." What are you basing this on? 1 sack against Brady in the last game or Osi's 13 sacks? Oh yea, 6 of Osi's sacks came in one game so he had 7 sacks in the other 15 games.

If I were you I would bet every dollar I have on the Giants  But then again I'm not you :D
