Oh that needs its own forum.
That's the thing... it has its own forum. It's called IndyStar LOL...
I mean, I'm all for informed, reasoned analysis, even including <gasp> criticism of the team management and coaches. Hey, we're fans, we're entitled...
HOWEVER, we're Pats fans, and that puts us in a difficult position.
Historically, half the fun of being a fan anywhere is second-guessing the coaching and management. But when you do that as a NE Pats fan, typically you just get burned. Badly.
So, the "center" of the discussion among long-time fans is "In Bill We Trust."
It makes it that much harder to defend a fault-finding mission when your team is 15-0 and on the cusp of setting history via several different routes.
All I have to say to the detractors is, dudes, don't work so hard. No horrendous comeuppance is going to prove you right about some pet theory. No greek tragedy will unfold if we have the hubris to set these records. No "monkey's paw" ending need await us for achieving the perfect season.
If the receivers excel, it doesn't mean the running backs suck. If the free agency moves work great, it doesn't mean the drafts have sucked. If we get bargains in one year, it doesn't mean we've "mismanaged" following years.
Yah, the Pats are "in groove" if you consider 15-0 a groove. Call my crazy but uh that looks like the
definition of a groove to me. Hell I live in the DC market. The Redskins are "super bowl bound" any time they win 2 games in a row around here.
What's WRONG with you people?
Okay, done ranting,
