Pats criticized for not wearing "21" decal

No. The D had 21 on their helmuts, just not the O.
Taylor was a D player.
We all know that Brady hates defensive players. :)

After careful consideration, I think our team should wear this number for all the teams all the time.:singing:

The Pats wore the 21 decal in the Ravens game. I saw it with my own eyes. There's nothing that says they have to wear the sticker the whole season, especially since he was not on their team. That's just unreasonable.

No one has complained that players from the Jets, Chargers and Lions aren't wearing the sticker.

Funny, the Colts weren't wearing it last night, either.

The desperation grows by the week.

The Patriots just can't win. Wait. They're 13-0. :D

I would support the Pats continuing to wear that decal if they had allowed Pat Tillman's number to be worn for the entire season after he was killed. In a related matter why did having a child without the benefits of marriage make Taylor a better person while it made Brady scum? Looks like if you embraced the 'U' thug lifestyle and later tried to change all is good, otherwise ts.

Marquise should have gotten himself shot, instead. That way, most people would remember him along with Taylor and Darrent Williams.

Because Brady is white. Is that what you want to hear? Because it's the truth. It's a sad fact of life that the media is genuinely racist with it's double-standards... black people are expected to have children outside of marriage, white people are scum for doing so.

The Patriots already have a number on the back of their helmets. Unlike Taylor, many of the Patriots actually played with Marquise Hill and knew him for a number of years. The number of people on the Patriots who personally knew Taylor is probably around 3.

Well they should criticize the rest of the league for not wearing Marquise Hill's number if they want to criticize the Pats.

The Patriots will get dumped on for ANYTHING they do or don't do this year. Just accept that.

Hell, Marquise died saving someone else's life.

Bingo.

Sean Taylor was a punk, and he died like a punk. It's sad that he passed, don't get me wrong, but the bottom line is that you reap what you sow.

Oh please, that's a stupid thing to say. People who knew he had money tried to steal from him in the middle of the night. Last I've heard there is no connection to his past.

And I think they are all on D, so it makes sense the D would be inclined to honor him.

And why should Taylor be honored above Darrent Williams of the Broncos? The fact is Taylor is more of a star and that's why he was more widely honored. And that feels "wrong" to me, anyway.

You should be banned for saying sh!t like that. What a dumb pr!ck you are.

They're probably not wearing it b/c no one on the team has any relation to Sean Taylor. As we all know, the only guys that really knew Sean and cared about his death are Ray Lewis, Ed Reed, and Willis McGahee.

Ooh, so true

The fact that this thread has received 4 pages of commentary does not reflect well upon Patriots fans. This isssue is no ones business but the players and no one here has a right to discuss their opinions of Taylor since none of us knew him.

LET IT GO.

Well, if we restrict our opinions only to those players we know, the world would be a pretty boring place.

Whew, thanks for letting me know that... I'm glad I can now drop the history course I'm enrolled in because I don't know any of the people we'll be discussing. Good thing, too, I would hate to have an opinion on something I'm not personally familiar with.

We are entitled to an opinion on this issue (some people's opinions are fairly ignorant, I will grant you that). Just because we are not personally familiar with Sean Taylor or the Patriots does not mean that we cannot discuss the comments made by another fan about the Patriots not wearing the decal on their helmets.

we didnt wear Darrent Williams or Nash. We wear Marquise Hill. If we wear a Taylor as well..why dont we wear the 2 broncos? and Pat Tillman? theres only so much you can put on your helmet

It also helps that the league said all teams could choose to wear the sticker for last Sunday, but the only team that could wear it the rest of the season was the skins.

Collinsworth commented on that when they were talking about people wearing it on their helmets.

If you had a little insight my bru-tha, you'd have seen there have been comments regarding Taylor's character. the man is dead and in my opinion, only people of little character would cut down a man who just died a week ago...

Let it go.
