The Pats are already sporting one decal. Maybe they decided not to disrespect that by adding another.
Seriously? lol, the hatred is quite comical.
This is just getting ridiculous. Even though Sean Taylor's death is unfortunate, I would think Pats honoring their own fallen teammate in tragic accident weighs more. Just because Sean Taylor's death receieved more publicity doesn't make it more tragic than Marquise Hill's death.
Well they should criticize the rest of the league for not wearing Marquise Hill's number if they want to criticize the Pats.
The Patriots will get dumped on for ANYTHING they do or don't do this year. Just accept that.
Hell, Marquise died saving someone else's life.
If they want us to wear a number, I propose we wear NO# 1 In the form of the middle finger.
They wore it last week...
Agreed that they're still sad about the loss of their own teammate, whose story gets less attention because he wasn't a pro bowler and didn't have a history that made for good print when he died.
They wore it for one game. That sounds right to me.
Why isn't the rest of the league wearing number 91 decals, then? This is bull****.
Ditto! No BIG DITTO!
They're probably not wearing it b/c no one on the team has any relation to Sean Taylor. As we all know, the only guys that really knew Sean and cared about his death are Ray Lewis, Ed Reed, and Willis McGahee.
But we did wear it.....
Good point about the #91 too. I'll echo the question, why isn't everyone wearing #91?
Rofl. Yea, please tell Ray 'Miami' Lewis to shed some more tears on behalf of Pats.
I noticed they dropped the "21", as well, and I was wondering about that.
They wore it for one game. I think that's enough. I think they honored Taylor sufficiently.
The "91" is for a fallen teammate. Sean Taylor was not their teammate. Marquis was.
End of story.
Has anyone sent an email in to profootballtalk asking them why NONE of the other NFL teams are wearing a 91 decal in memory of Marquise? At least the Pats put that 21 decal on their helmets the first week after Taylor's death, but I haven't seen a single 91 decal on an opposing team's helmet.
That's actually a very interesting point.
Lots of NFL players have died over the years and I never recall a league-wide honorarium. Individual teams, yes, but the whole league? About the only one I can remeber is Pat Tillman and his circumstances were very unusual.
I am sad for Taylor and his family. He's a local kid frm down here (SoFla) and a Cane and a Gulliver Prep alumni. I am a big supporter of SoFal High School football and Florida kids who play in college and the pros, but why was Taylor different?
As soon as me and my wife noticed this we KNEW that it would be talked about by someone. But it is really grasping for something... pathetic.
It was on their helmets yearday , right by the #91. Where else are they suppose to wear it?
The wore it for the Ravens game. Took it off for the Steelers game.
Are other teams wearing Maquies Hill decals??? No more idiots want to pounce on the Pats for one thing or another...
It seems like the Pats paid their respects as completely as anyone could ask for, considering it wasn't one of their teammates. I think the media is just looking to bash us in any way they can because we're blazing through. Don't hate, kids, don't hate!
