BB watch

I don’t know about the bolded part. He handled that just fine at the end, forcing Payton to spend his timeouts before letting Zappe throw it and ultimately put them in position to kick the game winner while not giving Wilson any real time to work with.

I hear you on the special teams thing, albeit no Slater last night, which ended up being noticeable.
He handled that masterfully

The other question is will BB agree to coach under a new GM and will that GM want Bill as his coach. I’m not sure about either.
1) If Bill’s only other options are other teams who won’t make him the GM there either then he may as well take a reduced role here

2) The new GM here would have some job security knowing that Bill only has two years left at most and then he gets to aid in the decision on who replaces Bill at that time. So not much reason not to be OK with it as it’s unlikely he would get the axe before Bill retires and the next guy comes in and gets a couple years himself.

If BB wants to just be a DC only again- I really think he’s still the best in the league right now even at his age. I can’t think of anyone equal. Maybe Spag is close?

Hasn't swayed me a bit.

Yes, the team plays hard for him still but.....

Special teams has been erratic for 3 years. It's not all on Archord.

BB should no longer be in charge of building the roster - especially with ~$90m to spend.

BB has lost his fastball as a tactical, game -day HC. Clock mgt. Decisions, etc.

He has never been an innovative offensive mind and that is what is required now.
If we use that first or second pick on a QB (which we should) then I agree. Bill cannot be responsible for developing a highly drafted QB.

Did the win last night move the needle either for your opinion on whether BB should stick around or what will actually happen?

It didn’t move the needle for me that much, I still think it’s time for a change, Gotta admit though they’re playing hard with nothing to play for.

Don’t know about Kraft. Black Monday is 3 weeks today… should be interesting
Bill will always be my guy

You don't fire Bill from coaching.

It's always been about wether Bill the GM needs to go.

That answer is and has been unequivocally yes. So if he's not willing to relinquish those duties, it's obvious what you have to do.

No chance. Zero. He wouldn't even get the record, which matters to him (it should matter to him!).

So much speculation has turned into "fact." We have no idea of what's going on behind the scenes. It could be anything from "THe Pats made a deal with the Chargers for a trade of Bill" to "Let them all speculate and put it on Bill and maybe that takes some of the pressure off the team."
If he wants to be back, he's back. Kraft didn't make a speech about loyalty before the Army-Navy game to fire someone who will be spoken of int he same sentence as Lombardi and Halas and Shula (barf).

Pointed that out in the live chat... Making the donks burn their timeouts...we were fortunate Parker decided to actually participate in a play, coming up with a great reception... Which made that strategy pay off... And doubly lucky Ryland didn't fold under pressure in what was, I think so correct me if I'm wrong, his first shot at a game winning kick...

Going to be interesting to see what happens just over two weeks from now...kinda dreading it, either way...

For me it comes down to 2 things what happens to this team if you give Bill a QB vs what happens to this team if Bill stays one year longer and gets the QB wrong. I think the risk reward is there as we are probably a playoff team with better QB play and only risk is a year.

Agree with all of this.

I believe he is still a great HC

But I doubt he will give up having final say on personnel.

Which kind of forces Kraft to keep him as HC/GM or let him go entirely.

Pair up a defensive savant (Bill) with an offensive one (Brady) and you get a dynasty. There’s been no partnership like that ever in the league and there never will be.

I'm on the fence right now. I'm coming back from "axe BB" to maybe there's less disruption to give 1 more year.
Especially because I hear BOB is willing to stay 1 more year too.
With a re-loaded offense, and returning defense could BB find his way back to contention?? History says yes.
But, all of that is riding on a QB. And, I don't think Zappe is ready to carry that. Back up, yes.
This is a prime situation for a vet QB like Cousins to come in and lead a hungry team back to prominence.

Schooler is just awful…good for at least one catastrophic penalty or mistake every game.

Bill has to go…as much for the coaching staff he assembled as anything else.

NO chance he accepts a GM telling him what do do which is really the true issue re: both player AND coaching personnel

He's has a number of mental lapses in games this year.

STs has been substandard with Slater

Kraft will be reluctant to take rusk of lettibg Bill go to another team after the Brady fiasco.
I think BB stays until he retires and Kraft hires a GM to help Bill.

Spagnuolo is a one dimensional blitz obsessed DC. Nobody is in BB’s league of game to game scheming. Whoever is second is a very distant second.

Unless they get blown out the last two games, he stays. The chatter has died down. He only leaves if he’s eyeing a trade somewhere.

However, it will be interesting how they handle the player personnel going forward.

We’re undermanned personnel wise but the team hasn’t quit on Bill. He’s still a good coach just needs a better grocery shopper.
