WOW.. Here we go... Damm, We made it to week 11 until this angle came up.. I had the under at 10 for this one to rear it's ugly head.. PATHETIC
Yep, it'll get the media through another week until he catches 4 for scores on Monday night and quiets everyone down the following week.

who cares? thats how he plays best. personally i dont want him "going all out" and getting beaten up blocking downfield when its irrelevant to the play's outcome. let him use his energy for what hes best at, which is big plays deep that win games.

I call Bullsheet! That is the reason why I did not want Moss before the trade. It is not acceptable no matter what excuse you use. Yes, I am glad the trade was made. Maybe he should sit on plays that he wants to take off. You don't want him blocking downfield, give me a freakin' break.

Evidently Moss isn't quite physically fit enough to play:

A. Play almost every down
B. Go deep on many plays
C. Block hard on some plays
D. Get beaten up on many plays

and also

E. Play hard to the whistle on every play

A pity.

This is so ridiculous. The Eagles played outstanding on O, D, and ST. They had just as much right to win as we did. They were obviously intent on slowing down our O and on keeping their own O on the field. They succeeded. They did a great job pressuring Brady, which certainly affected his ability to get to Randy. Whatever the Eagles did, the Pats obviously prepared for a different kind of game and Randy, like most of the other Pats, had no answers. In the end, we won because we have too many weapons and the Eagles aggressive play allowed us to get some key interceptions.

Its possible he was just getting a little tired and was trying to pick and choose where to conserve his energy. People forget he's in almost every snap, waaaaaaay more than Stallworth and Welker. Plus, he was getting doubleteamed and was consistently held and rouged up, thats taxing on your body.

I think because of his "takes plays off" rep, people are gonna try to make assumptions that he was not giving it his best effort.

So, you believe the allegations? You are confident that the sources of this information are completely accurate? You know that this type of play is not acceptable to the Patriot's coaching staff?

Realistically, until those 3 questions can be answered affirmatively, you have no clue, just like the rest of us. Bullsheet is right.

Seriously...you would think Moss has AT LEAST earned the benefit of the doubt from Pats fans.

No I don't. What I was referring to the BS was the fan's perception. I don't know if Moss was taking plays off. I didn't think about it during the game. What I find inexcusable is when a fan thinks its acceptable. If Moss did in fact take plays off, then he should sit on the bench. Yes, I feel confident that taking plays off would be totally unacceptable by the coaching staff.

Well if you kept that attitude without bias towards Moss you wouldn't want any player on any team. No player in the world is playing 100% every single second. Unless you are gonna build robots you have to understand they are humans. Moss just gets scrutinized more than anyone else. He however is NOT taking plays "off" and is NOT a problem.

look, I only care that BB's happy.

he's watching his players as closely as anyone and knows exactly what they're doing and why.

BB's not gonna let Moss dog it - I guarantee you that.

know that BB is on every twitch this team does.

he has them playing great. just relax. we're on our way to the world championship - and possibly a perfect season! - enjoy it before it's over !

OK, now I understand. My point was that the judge and jury here is the team's coaching staff regarding whether Moss was doing something unacceptable. It's not Jaws or Felger or anyone else. But man, they'll find every excuse in the world to discuss it this week ad nauseum!

Ok, so what if this is what happened: BB and Brady both see that Moss is continually drawing double coverage and it's taking him out of the play most of the time. Bonus is that Welker is getting open all over the place. So, on the sidelines while the D is on the field, they tell Randy, "Look, we know it's going to be tough to get you the ball tonight, but just keep going through your routes and as long as you're drawing 2 defenders we're in business." I wouldn't hold anything against Moss for running at 80% as long as it continues to keep 2 defenders off of the rest of the receivers. So, what might have appeared to Jaws as "dogging it" was simply the way they knew things were going to go the rest of the game.

They won....end of story.

I have great difficulty reading this thread.

Are you people out of your minds???

Mr. Moss leads the league in touchdowns. He is an outstanding player.

Look to the play calling to explain why he had a tough day.

Me, I thank the stars every day that we have Moss and Brady.

let's look for reasons to bash randy moss. give me a break. the guy has produced.

This board has been strange all week. Many looking for weaknesses and faults with the Pats and individual players. It's amazing, as you'd think this team just traded won-loss records with the Dolphins.

You know, you nailed it! That is exactly what Belichick would say. Yea, BB tells Randy to take it easy. Afterwards, they served tea and crumpets in the lockeroom.

See, I knew someone would agree. I don't know about the tea and crumpets though, but apparently you're in tight with Belichick, so I'll have to go with what you say.

Apparently the term "decoy" has escaped your understanding, but that's OK.

BINGO

The game plan was not to throw to Moss while he was being covered by Dawkins (one of the best safeties in the league) and Lito who is the Eagles best cornerback. Kind of like in Super Bowl 36 when they didn't even try to throw to Aneas William's side of the field.

Give the guy some slack.

I think BB is paying people to post negativity to distort the perception.

You know, I think it has become a sense of entitlement to some of the pats fans (I use the term loosely here) on this board to expect blow outs as if they were personally superior to other team's fans and feel angry if it does not turn out that way. I can't believe people have started questioning Randy Moss's effort after he drew double coverage to create space for other receivers on 71 of the 73 offensive snaps! Have you ever seen a stretch-the-field receiver playing on that high a percentage of snaps?
