Game Day Thread Official Post Game Thread- Raiders beat the Pats

THIS IS OUR LIVE GAME DAY THREAD:

This is where we gather to follow things on Game Day. Obviously, emotions tend to be high so if anyone gets a little crazy, the use of the “Mute” button is encouraged on anyone who may be annoying to you to control your experience and to allow the moderators to also enjoy the game.

At the same time, please take a deep breath before over-reacting for the sake of making this a pleasant experience for everyone.

If the NFL's goal since they instituted play reviews from the New York Jets video room was to disenfranchise Patriots fans, it's finally worked. The fix is in folks. The Patriots aren't going to get anything from that review room.

I'm done with this farce. The Eagles Super Bowl "catch" was the first of many. The horrible call they made in the Vikings game against Henry was bad. Heck, the same thing happened on a Raiders TD catch today and it counted. Then that clearly out of bounds catch was ruled a TD. That was it NFL... you did it. You completely turned off this Pats fan. I'm done watching the NFL replay office in New York flipping me the bird.
How about the one in the KC game in Brady's last year here. If not for that missed call the Pats get the #1 seed and the bye instead of KC.

We should have known that something was up when the league was punishing the Pats and Brady for a made up violation in 2014, at a time when the only violation was by an NYFL employee (a former Jet most likely) who was stealing balls meant for charity.

The referees didn't do the Patriots any favors but that last play was the worst play I've ever seen in my life.

I don't understand what the benefit gained would have been since he threw the ball back like 15 yards.

That pretty much seals the Patriots fate in regards to the playoffs
Maybe a better outcome than being blown out again by a team that belongs there. The sooner they get "on to 2023," the better, IMO.

Lamar too expensive and I'm not convinced the Pats want a running QB, but who knows. I like Jimmy G but he can't stay off the cart - the back-up would be playing by week 4 behind this OL.
Lamar is on the cart right now.

And I thought I saw my wife naked. No, wait...

him saying he thought he saw Mac Jones open does not help his case on any level lol

Mac is not a skill position athlete, even if he was WIDE OPEN he threw the ball backwards like 30 yards expecting our giraffe legged QB to what, break 50 tackles and bring it to the house?

Just dumb.

Well Mac did it in the pro bowl and even griddied after so...

:D

This team would be 10-4 at minimum with competent QB play even with Patricia.
If you're going to do a dream sequence you might as well make it 14-0.

At this point I would go after Jimmy G or Lamar.
I would kick the tires on TB12 for one more season and a final rodeo and right the wrong that happened 3 seasons ago. Unlikely to happen and Brady also isn't young but I would take TB12's offensive mind anyday over Patricia and Judge.

QB is not a skill position? That's news to me.

Finishing the season the first or 2nd week in January will not make a difference to what is decided on the roster and coaching staff.

We know the offense sucks and needs to be fixed
We know we still don't know if Mac is "The Guy" but it's trending to a "He Ain't"
We know Fat Matt needs to go and a professional NFL level OC needs to be hired
We know Cam Archord needs to go
We know BB needs to look in the freaking mirror and seriously ask himself if he should be coaching this team.
We know Bob and Jonathan should be seriously asking themselves if Bill should be coaching this team

Patricia is a big reason this team doesn’t have competent QB play. Van Joseph wasn’t wrong when he said the Pats offense has talent.
I never knew how much Patricia was disliked until I read the comments from some of his ex-Lions. We heard a little about him having problems here also but that talk was muzzled.

I'm still wondering if the absence of Ernie Adams is behind some of the problems now. His was a key loss.

What a foolish and strange way to throw away the playoffs and season.
Draft the best available OT from the SEC or Big 10 in the first round. (no small school pick please) Then in the 2nd round, draft the best available OT. And use some of that draft capital in the 4th and 6th to trade up if you have to.
At this stage in the rebuild, we need quality over quanity.

But now there’s Evan Rothstein. :maybenot:

Judge wasn’t exactly beloved in NY either.

its never been considered an athletic position like a WR/RB

There are only 2 QBs in the league maybe that could have had any chance at all of doing something with that ball

lot of good Brady’s “offensive mind” is doing these days

Hold on now. Which is it? An "athletic" position or a "skill" position.

Bill is now running a Family where a lot of people look like Fredo. He can stay but he needs a transition plan and a lot of cleanup work. If he won’t do that, the Krafts will have to take care of all Family business.

We've touched on this recently and it absolutely has to happen. We've always had Gronk/Moss (top 1-3 at their position) and Wes/Jules (top slot targets) along with some nice pieces to fill in the puzzle.

Tackle nor WR isn't top heavy in either draft/FA so a trade might be the way to go.

Idk but again we just touched on this. We need a true #1 option and tackle help in the worst way. We need both.
I cringe whenever I watch our tackles and I hope that the QB can survive, whichever one it is. Unfortunately, it's very difficult to get a good read on a QB with so much offensive disfunction. We may or may not still need a QB.
