So PJ, what was it like not being the tallest guy walking down the street?

Pretty good, actually. I like feeling average size rather than big-whitey.

Man, I enjoyed that. Thanks PJ!

BTW, where's the black hat and beard???? :D

thks Patjew for sharing with us - happy to hear that everything went fine

Not sure exactly. Probably 2 or 3 more years.

Have you tried the Chop Suey? It's a little known forum fact that it was invented a mere 100 miles away from Hong Kong.

Thanks, Patjew, an enjoyable read. I'm sure your Dad loved being with you as you're now living over in Hong Kong. And good for the two of you for walking from your hotel to the stadium.

Just one bit of advice. You expressed a concern about your Dad's bedroom farts and you take him out for a Tex Mex dinner? Next time feed him a Texas steak so you can keep the windows in your hotel room closed while the two of you sleep.

THANKS!!!!!!! Wish u could get moe pics up...must have been GREAT!!

BTW, PJ, if your dad snores, have him ask his Doctor about having a sleep study done. Insurance usually pays 100% for this stuff, and if he has Apneia or Hypopneia, he can get a CPAP machine (also usually covered 100% by insurance). He will get better, deeper sleeps which will improve his overall health and life - - it did for me. Millions of people are being robbed of adequate/deep enough sleep because of the snore-interruption. The solution is right there and the insurance companies agree (in my case, my HMO usually battles on everything from my kids' childcare visits, etc. - - I've never seen them so accomodating as to the sleep thing - - they understand well how much it improves health and keeps THEIR expenditures lower in the future).

PM me if you need any more info - - I don't want to bore anyone here on the football forum with this stuff anymore than I already have.

......the farting part........can't offer any help there. :D

Pat, thanks for the thorough recap of the Dallas game and trip. I got a cool vicarious "experience" from it. Couple things, from my experience,

I had a business trip to Dallas a few years ago, also not impressed. "Flat as p*ss on a platter", as one local put it. Spread out like a smaller LA, meh.

TX stadium sounds like a couple of other soul-less concrete shells I've been to a few times that were built in the same era, Candlestick Park and the Oakland Coliseum. I can see them being imploded someday, although there were great moments at Candlestick with Joe and Steve, Bill Walsh, etc. Same to a lesser degree at Oakland with Stabler, but some bad Patriots experiences too.

Thanks again for the very well written trip report.

PJ- Thanks! You're a terrific writer. Your style kind of reminds me of Winston Groom's Forrest Gump-one of my favorite books.

You should keep a web blog, and someday you'll be famous far beyond the Patriot Nation. Keep 'em coming!

Thanks for a recap. I hope we can get more of these from fans who go to away games.

Or home games. It's always interesting to read about the everyday stuff that TV doesn't show, what the fans are doing, players on the sidelines, etc.

Yup. I'll do a recap for the next game I attend.

I'll be down in Baltimore for the Monday Night game in December and plan on taking plenty of photos and then posting a recap on Tuesday.

I went to a Ravens game last year (they played Carolina) and those fans are loud. It should be a good time.

I look forward to seeing the recap. The last road game I went to was against the skins in 2003. I used to try to get to at least one away game every year. With the wife pregnant with our first, I doubt I'll be able to get to an away game for a while. I still go to a few home games though, and I'll post a recap for those.

I try to make one road game each year. The last few years it's been the Jets (I have friends in Jersey) or Bills.

My girlfriend lives in Baltimore and has access to season tickets. It's going to be a lot of fun. There will be a lot of Pats fans down there for the game.

Congrats to you and the wife. When is she due?

Thanks. It's a girl and I've already bought her a Patriots T-shirt.

The due date is February 4th - that's the day after the Superbowl. I told my wife she better not go into the labor on the 3rd because I'd hate to miss the birth of my first child. ;)

All the best. My 9 year old daughter loves the Patriots. Like you I had baby Pats gear for her before she was born!

Thanks for all the nice feedback, everyone. For those that praised my writing, thanks, it means alot to me. Sometimes I feel like a frustrated writer posing as a businessman. What a sellout!
