For those that missed it, Albert Breer did a great job blogging during the game

I'm going to miss Breer when he goes to Dallas. His blog can be found here.

He had some great insight, like this:

Breer said:
As productive as Randy Moss has been (6 rec., 157 yds., TD), he’s probably been out of the game for about half the Patriots’ snaps to this point. And in shuttling him in and out, the team is clearly messing with the Jets. During TV timeouts, the Patriots have habitually put him in and taken him out of the huddle late, which is probably because they know that the Jets have to prepare differently when he’s out there.

So there’s just another advantage having Moss brings the team.

Breer said:
A quick note from that first drive — which was mighty impressive, covering 91 yards in 12 plays in 5:39 — in regards to the inner workings of the game.

After the Jets punted, the Patriots offense took the field during a TV timeout. With ‘22′ personnel (two tights, two backs) on the field, Kelley Washington was the only receiver in the huddle.

But right before the huddle broke and the unit headed to the line, Washington sprinted off the field and was replaced by Randy Moss, giving the Jets little time to react.

Breer said:
So here’s one way the Patriots are combating their tight end shortage: Ryan O’Callaghan just lined up there is a jumbo ‘31′ personnel look.

Breer said:
The Patriots nickel defense has been rolled out, and it’s kicking Randall Gay into the slot with Ellis Hobbs and Asante Samuel outside. The Patriots also are going with more four-man line in these situations, after lining up in 3-3 looks in the preseason, with Mike Vrabel and Adalius Thomas as the linebackers.

Breer (Before the game) said:
Another spot the Patriots are now excessively thin at is tight end, carrying only Benjamin Watson and Kyle Brady into the game. Earlier in the week, OC Josh McDaniels was seen huddling with Mike Vrabel, who figures to get red-zone reps at the position. But between the 20s, looking for a heavy dose of “11″ personnel (1 back, 1 tight end).

We are going to miss you, AB. Good luck in Dallas.
