Just some stuff i think is worth talking about.

#1 Did you know the NYG have the 2nd best record in the NFC? People need to consider them a contender at this point. Their D isn't bad at all and they have some dangerous weapons. Given their history this is a team no one in the NFC should want to face. They will likely stay behind Dallas and get the 5th seed though.

#2 I do believe Denver and Pitt as of today are out of the playoffs. No one saw this coming 2 months ago. There is a shot maybe one or both actually sit home.

#3 We almost had a 3rd tie last night. The NFL should change the overtime rules a bit cause no true football fan wants to see ties happen and especially not more than 1 time a year.

#4 Just a reminder. the Rams have the worst offense in the NFL with an average of 15.5 PPG. The Pats D should make a statement this week and look like it did vs Houston (that that it needs to give up 0 points but it needs to show dominance for 60 minutes IMO)

#5 Right now no D is better than surrendering 17 PPG (Seattle exactly at that mark). Last year they were the best giving up 17.3 PPG. This a trend I don't like. I did a quick look and these are the only 2 years in recent NFL history and maybe 2 years all time (I only looked back so far) where the best Ds gave up so many points.

Giants upcoming schedule - Steelers, Cowboys, Lions, Eagles and Washington. Lets see how they fare.

I'd rather have ties than unnatural acts to avoid ties. What's the big deal with a tie now and then, anyways?

Why does the defense need to make a statement? Why do they not just need to play well enough to win the game?
There is no voting or ranking system in the NFL that determines who wins. Who are they making this statement to, or for?
Do you really feel that whether they win 28-0 or 28-17 or even 28-27 will have an impact on future games? I do not.

100%. Ties are better than trying to find the football equivalent of the shootout, and WAY better than making these players play several additional quarters of football and the toll that would put on their bodies.

Imagine a game in horrible wind and rain, where field goals are almost impossible and passing is completely unpredictable, and that game going to multiple overtimes with one of the teams having to play the next coming Thursday. Ridiculous.

Man up America. If ties in sports bother you that much your life must be f-ing charmed.

I disagree about ties. the NFL did fine with ties for the first 80 years or so of their existence. (correction: 55 years)

Dont be fooled by the Giants amount of sacks. Snacks is an underrated pass rusher and That D line plays better as the game goes on. But they can not run the ball. but they could not 5 years ago either until the playoffs. Someone is going to be peaking, Lets hope its us

Because at the end of the day there should be a winner and a loser. Plus that third column is so ugly.

The G-Men have been playing well. They have a tough slate of games coming, so we'll see what happens (as @SVN mentioned).

I said that I didn't think DEN would make the playoffs even before the season. For a while it looked as though I'd be wrong. Now, I'm not so sure. (I also said Carolina wouldn't make it, but they're on a bit of a run right now . . . tough loss against OAK).

Meh

We'll see. We've seen quite a few games where struggling teams/QB's have seemingly found an elixir in the Pats D. I'm certainly now suggesting this will happen. But we have seen it before. But maybe this can be the type of game where they'll try some new things and find that they work . . . implement them later on in the playoffs.

The rules are skewed for scoring so this trend should only continue.

If it's the Broncos, Ravens, etc. sign me up! ;)

Goddamn him :D

The NFL should adopt a variation on the NHL 3 on 3 sudden death format after the first overtime period. Maybe 6 on 6 sudden death with no pass rush and no field goals.
