If Brady wins a 5th ring before he retires, how long...

@JetFan79 - I am still very unsure of Jets fans online (even ones allowed here) after my treatment on Gang Green. I joined and did nothing but try to be friends with them, and was pretty much attacked and thrown out of the forum.. "Bullying may not be tolerated" didn't actually exist. :(

Seriously though, sorry to hear. I've never been on Gang Green. Was on JetsInsider before they sold out. Then joined JetNation.

My guess is you'd have better luck there. It's not that bad. We even have a Pats fan who was banned from here. If you do ever join, lemme know, I'll get your back 'til you're established.

Obviously you have to have some thick skin though. I've been abused a bit here. Just gotta laugh it off.

Also have to pick and choose your battles. For example, you'll notice I don't weigh in on the cheating stuff (much). Hell, I joined right when the Deflategate sh!t was hitting the fan. Instead of posting, I waited months until things died down because I figured I'd instantly look like a troll.

Basically if you can deal with the occasional BS, being on a division rival's board can be entertaining. Especially when you're talking NY/Boston.

2010 actually, was the first undisputed MVP, not 2007 somehow. It was still Brady.
Oh, yes, at least partially due to Moss' 23 touchdown year. Thank you for the correction.

I know he wont retire but if he wins his 5th ring this season I'd be okay with him walking away. Accept the ring from Roger and tell him to go **** himself and go live happily ever after.

Hard to say.... You need a good team.. argument could be made that Brady should have more than 4 or 5.. He has been so good for 17 years and likely more. Ben could have more. With a great team it's doable.

EDIT: Brady had 3 before he was 27. And he only got better. With those three in place he under achieved considering his greatness.

Disagree on the "under achieved."

Conference and League Championships are extremely difficult to win and, yes, they include an element of "luck" and somebody "making a play." The Pats have experienced both sides of those equations during the Brady Belichick era: the tuck call reversal, the Tyree catch, the Welker drop, the Manning to Manningham pass, the Butler pick.

That's why winning even one SB for a QB is a meaningful accomplishment; two represents a great career.

Saying that Brady has "under achieved" with four is a bit much. Plus, we can never downplay the abilities of Belichick when we speak of "greatness."

OT: Just listened to Abbey Road a week or two ago. It has to be the greatest album of all time. Even if you didn't agree, you're likely to have it in your top few.

Thats like ranking your favorite Patriots SB team :p

5. White Album
4. Abbey Road
3. Revolver
2. Rubber Soul
1. SPLHCB

If Brady wins 5 I don't think that will be matched in my lifetime. Too much turnover and parity. And as all Pats fans can attest, getting to 5 isn't easy.

For those ready to move on when BB & TB do, I don't get it. Goodell and the other a holes are not going to ruin Patriots football for me. I've been watching since the 70's (albeit rarely back then due to blackouts) and I have no plans to stop in the future. I love the players we have but ultimately I root for the uniform and will continue to do so post Belichick/Brady era.

In fact, part of me is looking forward to how that's going to play out...

I would guess within 50 years but if the game goes more towards running QBs then never cause they will never be healthy and effective long enough.

It's likely CTE, etc. will kill football in the next decades, so it's extremely improbable for another QB to win 5 rings...

Unless the NYJFL front office finally succeeds in rigging the game for their Jets.

Who is Peter Criss supposed to be? Can't make it out.

Me too. Its a real possibility he could be the next "Chosen One"

Yea I really wish he didn't hurt his shoulder, would been nice to see how he would of panned out playing those four games

I think we know hes talented, makes good decisions and knows the offense.

What we don't know is his durability and his ability to win games when the team needs him to do so. Only way you find that out is playing an entire season and maybe a couple of playoff games.

And just for reference I'm 37.

Don't shoot the messenger here, I'm just stating public opinion. My opinion doesn't matter.

If you polled all fans and experts, Brady isn't even the undisputed #1 QB. Let alone the best football player. Actually he'd probably rank an average of #3 QB. And he's obviously still playing, which always sways votes in a current player's favor.

Then add in the fact that football is easily the most "team" of any of the team sports, and a football player will most likely never compete with the top basketball or hockey players for greatest team athlete.

Heck, as of now, I'm pretty sure Belichick would get more votes as greatest coach of all time in any sport.

Realistically there's no way a team has the greatest coach and QB/player of all time while "only" winning 4 or 5 championships.
What Tom Brady has accomplished SO FAR is greater than everything Jordan accomplished because being an NFL quarterback is much harder than being an NBA guard

And that's not my opinion, its fact

Didn't you say you bow before your Brady bobble-head everyday?

Not long. a few more months.......

So your going to stop watching the patriots just like that? Life goes on after Brady and Belichick. I'm a die hard patriots fan until death

keep in mind, his pink hat will probably have turned off pink from the washing machine and he cant be bothered to get a new one.

I just don't think it's realistic to try to compare the accomplishments of a player in one sport to a player in another sport.

But I do think that if Brady wins #5 (and #6. And #7?) there will be no way that anyone can possibly deny that he is the greatest quarterback in the history of the universe

There are a couple songs that I could live without (Octopus Garden, Maxwell's Silver Hammer), but the montage of songs at the end is awesome

I completely understand this is a Pats board, and posters will be Pat fanatics. Happens on all fan forums.

Even with that said, and allowing for extreme homerism, the words above should never be spoken or written again for as long as humans exist.

Perhaps if humans evolve to some superior species. Then maybe, just maybe, one of those super humans could be on Jordan's level.

No one will ever win 11 NBA titles ever again.
