There is no way this guy would grasp the playbook and system in New England, and that doesn't even account for all his additional baggage.

Anyone who wishes the Pats had drafted Bryant instead of McCourty should go back and look at what the folks in Dallas were saying about him at the end of 2010/start of 2011. He would never have survived Brady.

I mean it's a fun rumor and everything but if we're gonna do unrealistic hypotheticals I want Megatron to come out of retirement and get traded to us.

I mean if were just going to go all willy nilly, I'd like to take randy moss from today(older wiser) and put him in randy moss from his youth's body.

So, a team that has been known to employ multiple head cases with talent begins winning for the first time in years while missing their most talented head case.

Float trade of talented head case to team with a low threshold for headcases, who also has no use for him since they are also winning without him.

Good show, good effort.

When it comes to offensive weapons and particularly pass catches i am weary on signing them to big contracts or bringing in one with a big contract. IMO you are better off having a good cast and using your money elsewhere than getting that high paid top WR. There are a few exceptions to this rule though and they are the elite of the elite.

Guys I would take here with their contracts are

Antonio Brown
Julio Jones
AJ Green

Of course TEs are just such good value I am happy to spend on them. I would love Olson here for 7.5/year or Reed for 9.35/year as neither breaks the bank.

However if you want to bring a WR here and invest a lot of money into one it needs to be a guy that can win 1v1 against almost anyone consistently and score TDs.

If you can not get a WR that absolutely strikes terror into the other team then just pay for the Edelmans, Hogans, Amendolas of the world and use the money on D and OL as it will be worth more there.

McCourty would have never survived Dallas. They'd be fed up with him getting there early every day and annoyed on how late he was leaving.

NFL Rumors: Could New England Patriots Trade For Dallas Cowboys WR Dez Bryant?

Completely unfounded rumor, but interesting to think about.

Hypothetically, if we traded a few picks to Dallas for Dez, how much better would it really make us?

Sit back and imagine Dez on the outside, Hogan on the outside, Edelman in the slot, Martellus flexed out and Gronk with the GOAT slinging it 2007-style.

************. We would rain hell on everyone. I think it is Randy Moss with more longevity. He would straighten up here like Martellus IMO.
No Thanks hes a Cancer.

The Pats already have a better version of Dez, he is called Gronk!

Bryant has been hurt for two years now, he is borderline insane, and would have a better chance comprehending a calculus test, than the Pat's playbook.

I remember on draft day when he was still on the board when the Pat's pick came, I was like Harry Potter sitting under the sorting hat, Please, not Dez, Please Not Dez....

We were all afraid Bennett could be a problem too. Playing winning football can go a long way for guys who are passionate about winning.

Dallas has only one loss. It hasn't made a difference. He's still Dez.

Dez strikes me as the type of guy who, by all accounts, should totally fail in New England and be a big problem - but somehow surprises everyone and produces.

Bennett and Bryant are different issues and Bennett was kinda explained in articles and that E:60 episode. I still question whether Bryant is smart enough for this offense and Bryant most definitely is a me guy.

He's a diva. Not worth the social and personal problems. Moss was a diva as well but in my opinion was much more grounded than this guy. Dez would probably drive the entire team bats. In n Dallas he's just another talented big mouth as they seem to collect more than their fair share and as such, his diva-ness is not a big deal.

He's been injured a good part of the time so far. Plus the fact that Dak isn't throwing to Dez as the team isn't going to let Dak 'throw' a game away as long as Elliott is running as well as he is. Until and if Romo returns Dez isn't going to get much in the way of action. Cowboys are doing really well as long as Elliott is running. When (if) that stops they are just another good team.

If "speak first, think later" OchoStinko couldn't figure out the Patriot WR play book, are we really going to believe this trade rumor involving another mental midget has some basis in logic

I'd guess gronk and Bennett.
I doubt it. Gronk doesn't strike me as the enforcer type and Bennett hasn't been here long enough.

If some mediot says "you know what would make sense? Player A to Team B!!" that's not a rumor. That's an opinion.

And all we have here is a mediot's opinion.

Exactly. There are at least 4-5 solid reasons why Dez Bryant will not be coming here, and probably more.

im more enthralled by the prospect of getting the cowboys C...and I don't even know who that is

I doubt it. Gronk doesn't strike me as the enforcer type and Bennett hasn't been here long enough.

But Gronk is responsible for throwing people out of the club and Bennett justifies it poetically. #LawNorder
